So close to getting through without an injury excuse. I've tidied it up for you.
It's not an excuse. It's a fact that we don't have the depth in defence to play better ball users.

Collingwood scored majority of their goals from turnovers and Essendon's main scoring source was from stoppages. Better ball users in defence means less turnovers and less opportunity for Collingwood to score from turnovers.

Of course that's all hypothetical so I'll take the 2 points.

Bit strange that both coaches are suggesting extra time be played, given both sides poor percentages mean a draw is effectively as good as a win for both clubs. In the long run, certainty for Collingwood, they may make up the percentage, Essendon probably won't. Then again Collingwood like playing only close games, so maybe they won't. But at the moment neither team would be higher on the ladder, and won't be for a few weeks barring a few 100 point wins, if they had of taken 4 points not 2.

Umps really should have given a 50 to hind here in the last 15 seconds, two players on the mark, elliot moving around. Would have taken him to 70 metres out , long kick in would have been a chance to punch through for a point
C'mon... the amount of close wins the pies have had over the last 2 years, with opposition muppets blaming the umps every time, I was pleasantly surprised that after a literal draw there was scarcely a word from either team blaming the umps. Don't ruin that, especially not with a story based on what hypothetically could have happened with a still image as your only "evidence".

Why not?

Do you have evidence of this?
Impressive that we played only close games yet had the best percentage in the comp last year.

Every other side must have been yo-yo’ing between thumping wins and thumping losses? ;)

They weren't suggesting this game be re-started, or even that the rule be immediately changed this season. But following your logic, if they did think the rules could be changed mid-season and intended to benefit from their suggestions, they'd have meant for the change to be applied to the remaining matches, eliminating the chances of any other team's % becoming relevant again.
