Will be interesting to see how many people turn up to our game and how many decide to roll in 3/4 time or post game to watch port instead

Gawn wants to come back asap. I see the merit in holding him back; so we learn to shark opposition ruck hit-outs, and they're mids.
You realise Grundy smashes most other rucks too, yeah?

I would rather hold on Gawn, Gawn might say he is good but players just want to play. Viney did the same thing a few years back, came back way too early and ended up making his injury worse. We need to learn to not rush players back.
Agree but imagine a 4-6 injury actually only taking 4 weeks.

To be honest I thought he was due back for the North game. Would love for him to dominate Richmond so the supporters could claim a conspiracy.
“How is it when Nankervis hurts his ankle, it’s 6-8 weeks, but Gawn hurt his knee and it’s only 4-6 weeks. Steve Hocking must have got to the doctors too!”

Gawn was talking about coming back after a couple of weeks and Goody said it’d be at least a month. I don’t think they’ll rush him back. Anzac Eve will be 4.5 weeks after the Lions game.

Goodwin was very strong two weeks ago saying he’d be out from a month from that date, so I’d expect he isn’t back till round 7 at earliest. There is literally no reason to rush him back, I’d be fine if he isn’t back till round 8/9.

He just said “it’ll be at least a month” but he didn’t clarify if he meant the total recovery or his recovery from that point

Just thought I might drop this here if anyone is interested. Our pod this week had schmuttt on as a guest and there's quite a bit of talk about Melbourne and the recent history between our two clubs.

Good luck for the weekend.. not that I think you'll need much.
I love footy pods, spend far too much time listening. Top job guys, great discussion. Respect for Schmutt, blessed cursed with a great memory of Dees games.

We played so many players underdone last year which blew up in our face. I hope Goody and Co have studied those #learnings and we don't rush Gawn back.

A current players family member told me once that Goody seems to get more stubborn as the year goes on, so will be an interesting watch.

It could be a fitness test I guess.

They don’t need to get load into Brown if he doesn’t play today because he can still get a VFL game in tomorrow.
Ah, a questionably fit Brown in the wet, what could possibly go wrong? If he's 95% fit, he still shouldn't play given the conditions.

I think the right call Brown out, but surprised Melk wasn’t the sub instead. Jordon will be sub I’d guess.
He may prove me wrong, but if we're pulling this move due to the weather then I would have gone Jordon before Melksham. Old Milkshake doesn't strike me as a wet weather specialist really.

Edit - Jordon confirmed as sub just now.
