Personally, I'd be happy for him to not be rushed back for 2 or 3 pointless games.

Long recovery then smash pre season

If hes still on track for R16ish by the mid season draft I wouldnt even be considering finishing him up for the year. Hewetts development is way more important than some MSD player. Sack or retire some fringe spud early(gaff) if you have to idc just get Hewett playing.
Its not like this is some weird unheard of injury

Liam Ryan back in the WAFL this week
Brockman should be good to return
Maric not as bad as first thought and a sneaky chance to play this weekend.

Only injury is Edwards which sounds like your standard 1-2 week hammy.
7 on the injury list is like a dream. (though there is some serious quality on that list).

Injury list is shrinking, that’s good news.
We have no excuse to be uncompetitive.
You can blame players form in you like, but the coaching staff are employed to get the best out of the players.
I’m not interested in 1 competitive game every half a dozen, we need to compete at every opportunity. That is business!

Last week's report said that Burgiel is at least a month away from playing. How the heck did it jump down to 1-2 weeks that quickly!?

Pretty good news and amazing that our injury list is so short, especially when Hewett is a pre-existing thing and Burgiel is basically a random event. Allen and Flynn seem like slow progress but who knows how carefully they are updating those timeframes.

Any mention of how much taller Maric is after the hit?

He has to have some serious bruising. it would be on brand for us to play him this week and then have him go out for weeks when he cops another knock.

When they announced the surgery, they said he would be out several weeks.
They obviously assumed it meant seven weeks.

He’d only just had surgery last week so it wouldn’t have been clear when he might be ready at that point so a conservative return was listed

We’re another week on and he’s returned to training giving them a better indication of how he’s healing

That would be my guess

Return dates for Allen and Flynn have been coming down steadily

Flynn was first listed as 10 weeks on 5/3 (5 weeks ago) and is now at 5-6 weeks

Allen was 8-10 weeks on 26/3 (2 weeks ago) and is now 7-8 weeks

Ah my bad for some reason thought Allen was listed as 8 two weeks ago but think that might have been speculation.

It's snuck up on us a bit, but easy to forget it's now been over a year since Liam Ryan played a game of football.

By the time he makes his return on Sunday, it'll have been 378 days since his initial hamstring tear in that calamitous derby in Round 3 last year. A longer period out than what Culley had to go through with his ACL recovery.

Several surgeries later, this will be a significant milestone for him. Can't have been an easy 12 months for a guy who notoriously isn't a fan of just running around at training, and just wants to get out there and play footy.

Who knows whether he'll ever get back to his best now, though raw talent and ability like he has isn't something that just disappears with time on the sidelines. Hopefully he gets a consistent run at it now and we can get him firing again for the rest of the season

Interesting in Simmo's segment with Daniels he said Ryan could've played last week but they kept him out 1 more to build in his fitness. Said he wasn't a fan of the 12km running he did on Saturday alone but sounds like he's putting in the work.

Wow - for some reason I thought he'd played a few WAFL matches last year.

Absolutely crazy that someone on here suggested he'll only olay 1 wafl game. I'm assuming he'll probably play at least 3. He needs to get confidence in his body before stepping up a level.

Do you happen to have a table on how old these players will be in 3 years time?
