Hard to know where to start as there were so many positives.
Backs - Back 7 were elite early. Really stood up and held strong when dockers were challenging early. TB's best game for the year, Gov played his role, got enough of the ball and defended well. Also loved seeing him stand up for his team mates in the last quarter - calling Serong a 'little b***h'. Cole, Witho, Duggo and Roth all are much maligned on here, but all stood up and played really good games. Would argue that it was Witho's best game for the club. Hough was in my top 3 or 4 on the night. Made Walters look silly. Offensively was damaging. Great start to the year.
- Mids. Don't have to say much about Yeoy and Harley. Together they work so well. Absolute bulls inside but so damaging outside. Loving the combo along with TK, who is quietly chalking up a great start to the year, with most of the plaudits going to Yeo and Reid. Ginbey's best game. He has been so clean below his knees for 3 weeks now, which is a great sign he is building confidence. Getting involved in link up and handball chains and still doing his thing defensively. Quiet night for Hunt, but as we become a better side, especially in the contest, we wont see Hunt with as much ball, which for the team is a positive. Chesser started brilliantly, had a real impact in the first quarter. Faded and was hardly sighted, but kicked that nice goal. Baz was very good all night.
- Forwards. Smalls were really engaged throughout the night. Long, Brockman Cripps all got their hands on the ball and were heavily involved in scoring chains. Waterman carried over his form from last week and looks so confident right now. Down night for Petch. JWill is doing enough without dominating. Is alot more physical than I thought he would be. His goal kicking is lovely to watch. Darling was prominent and provided a really good target, pleased for him. Most impressed with Maric. His field kicking is the best at the club, absolutely laced out Waterman a couple of times and then banged that one home from 55. Keep him in the side, up the field and we will have a real weapon.
All in all fantastic night, and that is the benchmark. So good to see the boys get around each other and really enjoy playing the game.

- Longy building very nicely after a quiet start to the year.
- Snek kicking sand in my face and backing up his Richmond performance against a much stronger backline.
- Brady Hough could legitimately become the best small defender in the league. He has all the physical tools.
- Tommy B is back baby! Towering marks, iron fists, slinging tackles! No wait, what was that last bit?
- Dom Sheed looking absolutely awful in his brief time onfield.
- Would have been nice to break even in the last rather than let Freo make the scoreboard look slightly respectable.
Year 2 of our rebuild and already have the Purples measure. Just glorious stuff, sticking it right up them.

Just watching the replay and Freo started quite well, really could have been 2 or 3 goals up early, like Richmond.

Mids are bringing the contest up the ground which means it isn't coming in with so much precision. It was and always has been the midfield getting themselves competitive.

Sounds eerily familiar to a great game late in 2018....
Yeah interesting to see the red time goals in the last 2 weeks v the first 4 weeks. We have definitely changed that trend of letting the oppo get 3-4 quick goals to really suck morale before the quarter break.
