Rolled ankle isnt really in the big worry issues I would have thought. Its not a repeatedly going calf or hammy or back issue
Lachie is as tough as nails and very powerful for his height. Someone as professional as he is would be very much into reconditioning areas of the body where LT problems are likely to occur.

I still think he's got 2-3 good years in him but he could do with some help and of course we know out of the blue injuries can strike anyone at any time.

But in terms of his overall condition at age 30 I'd say he's in the top 10-15 percentile looking at him go the other night despite carrying a couple of niggles he picked up in the pre season.

Said that during preseason, and copped a bit of a shouting down.

Bit worried Neale's body is falling apart tbh.
Doesn’t help when he’s been dog hit twice in both games and the AFL has pretty much condoned Hewitt and Pendlebury’s weak acts.

Imagine if Mitch Robinson did the same thing to Pendlebury. I’m not buying for a second that he gets off like Pendlebury did. Also Mason Redman would be peeved he got a week for what Hewitt got off.

Would be nice if the AFL and the weak umps actually protected Lachie.

What's the reasoning Britzoon apart from the age factor.

He seems fairly resilient to me. I know he gets bashed around a lot.
He has played through a lot of injuries in the last two seasons, often getting a needle to play.

And he has started to get more muscle/ligament injuries, on top of contact injuries.

One thing I watch is players facial expressions and body language after the play has moved on, and a player is left on the ground.

Neale is showing more pain than he used to, and his facial expressions are starting to remind me of Beams during 2018.

Yeah I get all that.

It's just that Lachie is a very resilient pro, driven to play .Personality wise nothing like Beams.

We need to look after him better. He needs help . It was a little disheartening watching him do it all on his own last week and no one flying the flag when they started pumping him. That was a disappointing aspect and the game was done once he rolled his ankle.

Beams was quite good in his last season for us before his personal issues really took over when he was back at the pies

Wonder how many drug tests they helped him dodge

I think this applies to Pendlebury on Neale

It's when adversity hits that you see people's true colors

I was a bit annoyed by Pendles response immediately after the game. Something, something about the guy retaliating always gets caught. Was there any vision of Neale whacking him? Seemed a deliberate comment to downplay his actions. Mind you I think a fine is OK, as long as that action continues to be a fine only.

Pendles actually used his hand like a karate chop into the vulnerable part of the ribs . A deliberate act and Lachie went down like a sack of spuds. He's been around long enough to know exactly what he was doing.

But he used his open hand so it's all ok . I really thought his quip about retaliation was pissweak with out evidence and not befitting his public image.

Apparently Lachie gave him a shove into the umpire before that although it must have been a fair amount of time beforehand. Haven't actually seen any vision of it either. Pendles waited until the ball was gone as well. Pretty soft.

The club has not bothered to upgrade Reville and Brain.
I hope the club coaches and recruitment staff are at least in attendance for this game on Saturday.

STATE CLASH FOR MID-SEASON HOPEFULS

THE VFL and the SANFL will meet for the first time since 2016 during Gather Round in a clash that could produce some of the mature-age players selected in a couple of months.

All 18 AFL clubs had the opportunity to put names forward for Saturday's game at Stratarama Stadium in Glenelg ahead of the 2024 Mid-Season Rookie Draft. The match will be live streamed on AFL.com.au and the AFL Live Official app from 12.40pm ACDT and Saturday. The full line-ups for both teams are here.

Former North Melbourne and Western Bulldogs defender Lachie Young is attracting interest after crossing to Carlton's VFL program since being delisted last September.

Ex-Collingwood wingman Trent Bianco is also in the hunt for a second chance after moving to Footscray during the off-season, where he has made a fast start and will play on the weekend alongside former Magpies teammate Callum Brown.

Campbell Hustwaite spent the pre-season training with Craig McRae's program but was overlooked for a rookie contract at the end of the pre-season supplemental selection period, moving to the Casey Demons, where clubs, including Essendon, have kept tabs on his progress.

Former Hawthorn midfielder Ned Long also trained with Collingwood across the pre-season after joining the Magpies' VFL program and is set to press his case for a second chance in Glenelg.

Hugh Dixon has made a bright start to life at Southport after six years in Perth where he played for Fremantle, East Fremantle and West Coast and could be a consideration mid-year for clubs looking for key forward relief. Richmond and North Melbourne could be in the market.

Delisted Sun Brodie McLaughlin won't play for the VFL side this weekend due to injury, but is another name being monitored after Melbourne considered him at the end of last year.

Southport recruit Ben Jepson, Frankston vice-captain George Grey and Werribee half-back Louis Pinnuck are some of the other players recruiters are monitoring in the early stages of 2024.

The Croweaters have selected a side stacked full of proven SANFL stars, including James Rowe, Liam McBean, Riley Knight, Lachie Hosie, Casey Voss and Mitch O'Neill.

Norwood forward Jackson Callow played three games for Hawthorn in 2022 after being selected in the 2021 Mid-Season Rookie Draft and is one name being followed right now.

Thirteen players were selected at the start of June last year, including recycled pair Caleb Poulter and Quinton Narkle, plus Brandon Ryan and Mitch Hardie out of the state leagues. There are currently 13 potential open spots, following season-ending injuries to Adelaide's Wayne Milera and North Melbourne's Callum Coleman-Jones on the weekend.

The match will be live streamed on AFL.com.au and the AFL Live Official app from 12.40pm ACDT and Saturday. – Josh Gabelich

Huge danger game for us imo. Norwood oval is shaped like a trotting track (literally no wings). It’s odd it gets approved for AFL games but that’s another topic

Kangas are a young team with great inside group, but like all young teams get burnt on the spread later in games. Norwood greatly limits this imo

It does however suit fagans one and only plan of bomb long so who knows

Not sure what to make of this, came up in my internet feed
