Predictable changes with the usual scapegoats.

Disappointed to say the least. Good on Tunstill for earning the call up. Would have been a good opportunity for Morris to play but we end up going with Gardiner who is still best as a defender.

Hardly. Dev needs to build form in the VFL and two rucks clearly didn't work. Logical changes.

Dev has been awful so far this season really. Makes sense to try Tunstill in his place. I think we see Gardiner forward again this week.

Well said. Dev and Fort are part of the same group of scapegoats, so hardly a surprise. Fort was way better than Oscar, who really has been hopeless this year and who gets the arse; Fort. How Hipwood has been retained is a joke. Bailey is another that you’d think would be close but not under Fagan.

So disappointing to see the changes made. Nothing to get excited about at all. Same old underperforming players get another go.

The reality is Chris Fagan has failed as a coach. Our list should have a few flags!

I don't think it mattered much who we played out of the 5 or 6 vying for a position in this particular game.

Keen to see if King Arthur can do anything with this opportunity.

They're not the changes I would have made, but they're fine enough. Tunstill deserves another run and two specialist rucks probably wasn't the right balance in the end. Would have preferred Morris to debut, but Gardiner did fine enough up forward in preseason.

Fort can’t ruck, O is limited but wins clearances and is a better ruck. Fort is a bit in no man’s land on our list seemingly

Dev did have an op I believe on his wrist, so like a few had an interrupted preseason. Gain a bit of confidence back in VFL and will be back before Ashcroft comes in. So agree with Tunstill.

There has been talk among some of the media, about the poor form of the lions and pies and whether the shortened preseason with both being GF's and then playing early in March, in opening round is an explanation. IF that is an explanation for their form lines, imagine the interruption and lack of adequate preparation for those that had off season operations, eg; Dev, Neal, Berry, Payne etc as these guys have had an even shorter preseason. I suspect they will start firing in the next few weeks.

I think Payne will play forward instead of Gardiner.

Would love us to try a small forward line for once. Especially seeing as we have pretty good medium size forwards who can take a grab or bring it to ground anyway.

But anyway, a must win.

Playing Gardiner or Payne as a forward is just plain stupid. Fagan is ridiculously stubborn if he does play Gardiner or Payne forward. He made a mess of selection last week and once again throws the mulligans around while dropping his whipping boy Robertson.

Absolutely, the commentary every year seems to be the finalists starting slow due to shortened pre-season, this year was the shortest off-season ever so it makes sense.

Or maybe it’s the off-season trip who knows

So why not Oscar out then. He’s been awful this year, Fort comes in a showed more than Oscar and predictably, Fort is the scapegoat.

Do you know what the word scapegoat means?

It's not as if Fagan has said "we're being beaten in the ruck, it's Forts fault!"

You have a crack at the players and then say we have a great list……

We’ve had a great list but it’s not produced the flags because the coach has been too stubborn to make the calls required. Right now the team needs spark and energy but we bring back Gardiner. We’ve underperformed it’s plain and simple
