I've always maintained that if we played Gwilt in the 09 GF instead of Dempster then we win.

Jimmy's work as a hit up forward for most of 09 was fantastic.

i tend to agree with that

Had plenty of talent, didn't initially have the work ethic and was treated in a non-optimal manner by Watters, made to mend his ways under Richo, developed the work ethic just as his body failed and he was out of contract.

i have it on good authority that under watters he was so much out of favour that he made contact to Ross Lyon about heading West but at that time Ross didnt have a spot in his team for him but if he was willing to come play WAFL they would keep an eye on him... he was a ripping young lad too ... hopefully his NFL dream gains some legs and he makes a big name of himself over in the US

Felt weird taking out hudghton as he was the one and only defender i recall who could actually beat fev.

Of the current crop, I'd expect king, owens and phillipou to be among those who could break in to this team in coming years.

One of our best team ever peaking in 2009-10 naturally means the best all played most of their careers in this century.

Really hard to see Roo, Hayes, Goddard, Dal Santo, Fisher, Milne ever being replaced in this side and that's more than a quarter of the team already.

Gehrig with 2 Coleman's and kicking 100 as well very hard.

Harvey an awkward one as his best was in the late 90s.

Cool idea though! Hopeful we do see most of these guys replaced cos it'll likely mean we've seen some success
