To be fair it was only Dwayne dribbling out what just came into the echo chamber of his skull… Gerard and Kane were in no hurry to agree to a conspiracy theory like that.

How is it a conspiracy theory?

I think seeing Waterman doing so well after his illness is genuinely one of the best footy stories going around. I’ve been on and off in Jake’s talent. Over the last couple years I’ve gone off him being an undersized kpf but last two weeks he was able to get on top some decent key back. A break out year this year were he could kick 50 not only helpf this young side going forward but also helps oscar out in the coming years
Yes it’s exciting to watch. In Jake’s early years I thought he looked like a real player. However, season after season he’d have a few very good games but for the rest was just okay.

For whatever reason he has certainly gone to another level this season. But it will be interesting to see if he can maintain it.

I’m wondering if he’ll be able to have the same impact when Oscar returns because he is 1. a designated KPF; 2. is captain; and, 3. is the long term prospect. That is, currently no one is The Man up forward so that enables Jake to be more of a target.

Also if Maric and JWill continue to develop, plus it’s been stated BWill is primarily a forward … it all may not allow Jake to fully strut his stuff. (But isn’t it great to be having such ‘problems’ c.f. last year?)

I see Oscar & Jake as the next Jk/ darling combo - but it could be maric, jwill or bwill that take the darling sport.

Def have good options coming thru in the forward line the media "experts" have no idea about.

Jake closer to goal, Oscar roaming, Maric similar to a Mark LeCras role.

Even Archer Reid if he comes on.

Oscar would be awesome at CHF, however with his knee he will play out of the square for the rest of his career. It’s going to be a matter of how we fit Snake et al in around that.

Regardless of who plays where I’d hope we can avoid all the tall forwards (and Ryan - grrrrr!) going up against each other. I’m not sure Jake is a good pack mark - he might be more useful leading to a different spot than Oscar even if it’s only a dummy lead.

Maybe with the demise of JD and absence of OA it’s given Jake a bit more confidence as well as more room to work in. ????

IF ...

the G-Train was a very good Eagles player before becoming a great at the Saints ...

THEN ...

here comes the lookalike J-Train. Fraser Gehrig. Jake Waterman. The former being the second-last player to kick 100 goals in a season, the latter being the one who has booted 11 in the past two weeks to help this mighty club finally feel good about itself again. Loving Waterman's emergence, particularly after his debilitating illness of last year.

holy s**t managed to not bring it up (harley).
im shocked i say, SHOCKED.
He mentions Harley earlier in the piece.

Didn't take them long.

Robbo from the HS,

No Harley, no West Coast?
It’s a ridiculous question, but it’s fair at ask: No Harley, no Tim Kelly, no West Coast? Reid missed because he was rested and Kelly was missed because his influence was poor.

The Suns smashed the Eagles in the middle with Jarrod Witts, Noah Anderson, Touk Miller and Matt Rowell the four highest-ranked players on the ground. That’s a quadrella no opposition wants to confront, not on the Gold Coast, not on the rebound from the Sydney loss, and not in customary Gold Coast condition. Kelly went head to head with Rowell. He had 18 disposals, but went at 36 per cent by foot.

Could you imagine having Rowell as your opponent? He’s so furious with his aggression, you’d be bruised for three days. The six-goal loss should’ve been a walloping when you note the Eagles had 35 inside 50s and the Suns’ 67. The 35 count was the second lowest of the season behind North Melbourne’s 31 in Round 4.

From Jon Ralphs top 30 free agents where Yeo is one of them.

ELLIOT YEO (WEST COAST)
Was very keen to sign a two-year deal, which was in the works before new list boss Matt Clarke arrived at West Coast. That still seems on track, even as clubs who asked about him last year step up the chase. If the Eagles lost him as a 31-year-old on a three-year deal elsewhere, their compensation might be second-round at best. That won’t be enough given his importance in helping midfielders Harley Reid and Reuben Ginbey grow, so the only option that makes any sense is a sign-and-trade where the Eagles lock him away, then wait for insane offers inside the top 12 picks. If someone is desperate enough to pay him the money to consider a trade, then it’s his decision to stay or go.

Surely you're doing whatever you can to keep him. Give him the third year if he wants it. Harley loves him and loves playing beside him.

Yeo won’t leave as long as we don’t stuff him round, he’s shown enough for a 2 year deal if that’s indeed what he is after. Love that Ralph still doesn't know that Duggo is signed. If we could get Florent out of the Swans on band 2 cash that would be a great result. Perryman, Cumming and Haynes would also be great.

Totally agree. Even if it is two years plus a trigger for a third.

Schodown with Pykey is a good one.
Couple of familiar names from here

Really like listening to Pyke. Seems very switched on and focused on getting on-field results first and foremost.

I found his comments about the increased training volume very interesting. Perhaps Kane was right after all? Although I don't believe it was the players being lazy, more so just a fitness program not up to scratch.

I'm not a Robbo fan, but you're taking that way out of context TBH.
I get the context but the guy uses words both the written and spoken for a living.
There was a multitude of ways he could of got that point across but instead chose to say that maybe that player should have been punched in the face proper for something outside of his control.

Just a 2 second think and he could have said 'well the tribunal has set the standard with "insert previous std here" so he should be free to play as it's clear they don't take strikes seriously / haven't treated them previously like this'.

Instead he made a statement so awkward Sam basically no-commented it and then he chuckled at his own poor statement.

Best interview I've listened to in awhile.

Pykes got a terrific mind for footy and clearly has a strong vision as to where he see's the club going.
