He’s kicked like 0.12 in finals

It’s been nice but time to move on Trav
Boak's dreadful record for continually missing regulation set shots has to suggest it may have been better for him to get some regular specialist kicking coaching in this country instead of going to the US so often looking for ways to improve other areas of his game.

4.14 which is still atrocious. If he was a forward then yeah move him on. He is a midfielder and his other efforts more than make up for his goalkicking. No doubt this is his last season though. He should have been self aware enough to work on his kicking for goal over the journey but that goes for just about the whole team barring several players.

I missed this one.

Boak, Dixon and Finny wouldn't helped us win against Collingwood.

Boak and Dixon never get it done against quality opposition and are now old and goodish enough which seems to be what the Port Adelaide Football Club is about nowadays.

We lost against the Pies in contested midfield which we always lose to and the small and medium defenders getting creamed. If you change that with gameplan and the right players then you will beat a team like Collingwood.

The reason I am more against Boak and Dixon apart from their average form is because our list is readying itself for a premiership and you need to ditch the old blokes and start to get young guys into form to nail the most out of your premiership window.

You don't give out Gold passes to youngsters but you do have to see what you have for the future of which Dixon and Boak are not a part of.

Its how good teams are managed and coached. It is why I am worried about the Giants as they are in the same window as us, have a better coach and are still blooding a lot of young, talented players. I'm not saying they will be the Threepeat Lions but they are looking real good for a while.
I'm flattered you re doing a search for every one of my posts that contain the keyword 'Boak'.

Again you have disparaged Boak and Dixon with no evidence whatsoever. Is this your eye test again that is telling us that Marshall is fine and it is just bad coaching???

It is as justifiable to argue that you need experienced players passing knowledge on to young players through example and communication. A feature which almost all dynastic teams have had.

Its also a valid arguement that you play your best team. It's great to daydream about what the team composition will be in our next premiership but there also has to be a focus on winning your next game and presenting your best team for this season.

Who is going to take Dixon's place right now anyway? He is no doubt our best key forward right now. Thanks to our fantastic list management we have a 22 yo Lord as the only viable replacement and he won't be available for another four or five games. Its not like we have incredible young depth knocking the door down for selection right now.

Sydney forward Will Hayward is reportedly on the radar of numerous AFL clubs as his current deal nears its expiration.
According to Herald Sun journalist Jon Ralph, the North Adelaide product has “parked” contract talks with Sydney as a new club enters the race for his services.
“He’s parked his deal at the moment, he’s a man in demand everywhere,” Ralph told Fox Footy’s On the Couch.
“Port Adelaide has now joined the chase, Adelaide is keen — of course, he is a South Australian.

What you see is what you get where his kicking has not changed as he has never been a good kick at the sticks.

Would also be a great fit for our team. Fingers crossed we can get at least one or two of these free agents.
After his experience with the Crows do you think he would contemplate leaving the city of Geelong to live in Adeliade?

Probably not… I don’t see why anyone would leave Geelong. They are perennial contenders. But it would be interesting to see what they are willing to pay him. He would be on the bare minimum at the moment and deserves a significant pay increase.

Mattaes Phillipou has inked a new deal to reaffirm his commitment to the red, white and black, signing a two-year contract extension to keep him in St Kilda colours until at least the end of 2026.
Not going great guns at this stage so not too upset with that. Would love to send merkin cheese to the knackers though.

Hayward and Perryman are 2 pretty good fits I’d say and we won’t have to give up any draft picks to get them
FWIW, I haven't seen anything remarkable about Hayward over his entire career to impress me.

Perryman appears to be a good solid player, who does most things quite well, without being an out and out star in any of them. It's a "maybe" from me - mainly if we get him via F/A for nix. Would give us a speedy defender/mid.

Maybe someone like Jesse Motlop, who seems to have fallen out of favour at the Blues, but was really good towards the middle and the back end of last year as he got some games under his belt, and felt that he belonged. Would add to the dynamism and pace of our small forward setup, and with Tomanasta and Charleson, gives us a few goalkicking small options into the future. And there's the family link to Port.

Just want to point out that Hayward averages the same amount of tackles inside 50 as McEntee, but has kicked 11 goals for the season.

Seems was too offensive for a Port forward.

Not sure the fit in the fwd line with Hayward, obviously a quality player but will play the exact same role as Georgiades.

Ive always liked Perryman, think he is best as a midfielder but will never play there at gws and same at Port, good wingman with really nice skills that is hard at it and does defensive jobs.

Upgrading small fwd, Wing and Small def has to be the priority

Luke Breust would be a great addition if we cant find a younger small fwd, would kick 35 plus

lol wut. He's 34 before next season starts. 3 games for 1 goal so far this year, injured/form for the rest.
