Yes .. cctv and they should have had in particular that corner covered when Ciara was abducted. My understanding is that cameras were set up, they should have seen him going in and out.

There was some drama when the press accused the police of not checking license plates on all the footage captured the night Ciara disappeared and they were forced to declare publicly that they did. That leads me to believe, the CSK may have used stolen or switched the plates on his car.
I'll have to go back & find where they said they had the camera(s) set up. My memory is Bay View Terrace but whether its accurate or thorough reporting is anyone's guess. I leaned toward them not looking at it at the time.
Its hard to fathom how many cameras they might have used where & for how long considering the delay between JR & CG & that the last reliable sightings of SS & JR were the opposite corners of Claremont. They must have a shitload of random footage of cars & people passing through that you'd have to assume wasn't recorded over after a trouble free night.... Wouldnt you?
Vision of someone scoping an area out night after night would be decent circumstantial evidence in a trial.

The above article states it was Bay View Terrace where CCTV was set up. Possibly there might have been some other footage from businesses along Stirling Highway.

No change at all.

Rayney was the lawyer who wrote the laws on behalf of the steering committee to which he advised and participated.

This was done prior to the incident and raises question marks about what could and could not be brought forward as evidence.

It is for this reason that I suggest loopholes can exist.
Yes. Does happen.
Can confirm that my oldest uncle came out of retirement down at Quindalup to rewrite Victoria's Stamp Duty Act, after he had already Rewritten Tasmania's. Both Acts are still basically exactly what he had written. They were put to their respective parliaments and legislated into Law. This was back when all states had to rewrite their stamp duty acts because of GST, and uncle Joe was the expert on state taxation Law's. Aunty Cheryl told him not to do it again when WA asked, but Treasury rang him up anyway, so he invoiced them a $1,000.00 for an hour's worth of his time on the phone to discuss what he did for other states and what to copy n paste, which you'll see as the only reference to his name in Hansard.
So yeah, I can believe that Lloyd was the principle draftperson behind some WA Laws. I know Robert utensil drafted some that WAPOL proposed back earlier, so why not. But I'm sure that you can't draw a bow to target Lloyd as drafting "loopholes" years before in premeditation of his wife ending up in a shallow hole. That insinuation just doesn't warrant oxygen.

Ive just compared the CI doco to what the article says and both narrative & vision in the video have her crossing the street and standing at the corner where the guys in the car approach and stop at the the lights. Id forgotten how close the car following was supposedly. Its much closer to them than articles describing them seeing its headlights portray IMO.

I had a look too last night. Footage of the intersection taken after the Body Club burnt down and before construction of the new building where the fences are up made it look so small and tight I was a bit shocked. The difference between the phone box being pasted right on the corner or back at the Chatsworth end, not a lot. So cramped, including the traffic lights.

I don’t think the angle is of premeditation rather just knowing the law, he was able to frustrate less knowledgeable cops through discovery and limit evidence that could be presented.

I knew that area like the back of my hand & even the places that were unchanged seemed to lose a little in translation on video. The whole film has a cramped somewhat unfamiliar feel which I guess is just the limited sections of vision shown in the frame. In reality, the section of road CG walked down wasn't nearly as scary as it appeared & the corner where BC used to be was actually quite spacious and the building set further back off the corner than any photos appear. Overall, this was a place the girls were familiar with & felt comfortable even though there were plenty of areas that were deserted & really badly lit. I've done what all 3 of the girls did, numerous times, because I felt exactly the same way in the area at the time.
Agree, exact location of the phone box is neither here nor there, it was very close.

Thanks for sharing, looking at the aerial and street maps thought I had a fairly accurate imagining of the space and it was nothing like what I saw in the video.

The IT specialist Mosman suspect.

Described as a chameleon, spotless car and fastidious personal presentation but who lived in a house of abject squalor. Engaged in group sex and fetishes. Came to police attention after being disturbed trying to lure a girl into his car on Stirling Highway around 2.00am. This must have been in 2007?

Police weren't able to eliminate him as CSK because he has no alibi for the nights in question. DNA right? I dont think they had a full profile in 2007.

Interesting.

I'd love to know what the individual said or did to the girl. Sounds like a weirdo but that's a big leap to CSK.

Afaik, it was 2007 he came onto their radar. Put him under surveillance for a year and officially cleared in the media 2009.

Thanks OES, do you happen to know how they cleared him? I'm trying to think back to what happened in 2009, was there an advancement in DNA technology?

He was eliminated by June 2009. The paper mentions that there were 1000 calls from the Jane Rimmer video.

"Police had spoken to several people who had come forward in the belief that they might have been the mystery man in the video but were yet to confirm his identity."

I guess there was a few flirty guys in Claremont in 1997.

Thanks heaps FTY, I had to do a factory reset on my desktop last week and lost nearly everything I'd collected the last three years. Serves me right for not backing most of it up.

I wonder how they cleared him.

Sen. Sgt Nicolau also confirmed police had eliminated from their inquiries an information technology expert they interrogated and placed under surveillance.

The IT expert came to the attention of police when a man reported seeing him as he tried to lure a young woman into his car on Stirling Highway at 2am one Sunday in 2007.

He became spooked when the man, an accountant on his way to pick up his daughter from a party, stopped alongside him.

Detectives raided the IT expert's home and questioned him.

Without getting too detailed I wonder what the obscene material was they found? Can't have been anything worth while if they dropped the charges so I'd suggest it was just pr0n and gave the cops a good reason to put some pressure on him.

I think a lot of people would be surprised how many creeps still cruise around in the early morning hours offering girls lifts home.

Does the article say this man is from Mosman Park? I've gone over the article several times and I can't see anything that states thats where he was from.

It says that he was seen trying to lure a young woman into his car in Mosman park.

And it said Mosman Park man. However I keep an open mind whether it's possible he was renting in Mosman Park in between marriages even if he was on electoral roll elsewhere.

SB is right, the Mosman link is only in that it was the Mosman section of Stirling Highway he was disturbed. I called him Mosman IT guy but that's probably a bit misleading, he could have actually lived anywhere. Even Kewdale. Maybe we should call him simply IT guy.

Oh ... IT was the scary clown.

There has to be intent also I think, to distribute, share, deeply offend and corrupt. I'm not across it well enough to say with any real confidence though. In 2007, likely difficult to get a charge to stick on material privately held unless the subjects are clearly minors.

But has anybody noticed, since BREs arrest where the police took out five computers, there have been quite a few raids and arrests across WA that rose from activity over the internet? One only a couple of days ago a woman plead guilty to hosting swingers parties in WA and involved her child.

Yet here I still am ;) :D

I'm not sure if there is any correlation but interesting nonetheless

His Kewdale home is pretty shitty but squalor?

The outside of the house was spotless, but the lawns were not mowed for a little while.
Not anything laying around the house, nothing.

The external panel and paint is sound. This house is well managed and maintained.

Its an original asbestos timberframe Kewdale home kept well.

These articles are often published where the journo has background information the police have supplied about a potential connection.
It's no coincidence this occured in Mosman Park.

Maybe some members of these groups have suppression orders?
