In 2021 he wasn’t the Cripps of pre 2020. There was talk of a broken back. Is this true? If so why was he played?

Not sure if it was broken or had some fractures, but many players carry injuries, but yes he should have been told to rest

Thats starting to look a pretty balanced line up if all remain fit for much of the season.

Accidental genius wants to know who the bottom 6 in our Best 22 are............reckon the key to us improving may well lie there......

Bottom 6 from that list for me would be. (Based on what the have actually done)

Young. I’ve never seen him play the role needed.
Honey. Just hasn’t played enough yet because of age.
De Koning. Not ready.
Dow. Nowhere near other AFL level mids.
Kemp. Hasn’t proved he can play at the level.
Cuningham. Going into his 7th season and hasn’t cemented himself as a player in a very poor side.

in a way that is very encouraging as all have huge upside.

While this thread is a noble gesture, I tend to look at it the other way round.

Take your best 3 out of ANY side & it totally changes the structure.

JW, Walsh & H out of our side on any given week & I’m plenty worried.

Just sayin’
start yer own thread, ffs....

imagine Melbourne without Oliver, Gawn and Petracca. Any side who loses their three best are stuffed.

Individually.
Weitering is the biggest worry imo. Can only be replaced by C graders and we can’t really rely on anyone to take a gun tall forward without probably changing the way we play in a big way.
If Curnow is fit then I think we can cover for McKay ok. We won’t be as potent up forward but should be able to make things work.
Even without Walsh I think our midfield should be no worse then it was this season
