UNDERSTANDING THE RUN HOME FOR BEGINNERS
(AND PROS, IT'S THAT WEIRD)

Ok team of mongrels who refuse to be the captain instead of me, listen (read) up:
After this upcoming game, there are FIVE more H&A games before finals.
After Rd 14, the fixturing gets nutso, with many BYES & midweek rounds & half-rounds, but we avoid most of the twists and turns.
We just have one game delayed until a Wednesday, and then catch up in a rush for the next (and last) round.

The best way to not have your brain not explode is to ignore the round numbers and just look at dates and games:
Sunday Apr 21 - v Gumbies (Rd12) - THIS WEEK
Sunday Apr 28 - v OOBs (Rd13)
Sunday May 05 - v Bombers (Rd14)
Sunday May 12 - v Hawks (Rd16)
Sunday May 19 - v Swamprats - match delayed to Wednesday May 22 (Rd19)
Sunday May 26 - v Bears - so only 4 days between our last 2 matches! (Rd20)

Then ... FINALS!

Fixturing looks borderline insane but it's actually the best way to fit the season into a timeframe AND manage the necessary BYE. ClarkeM has spent 78 years on making sure this wasn't even crazier. (Seriously, big props)

Its that time of the week, month that I finally get around to doing 3 month old Barrels award much to AnUltimateRessie 's disgust.

There was a game played. It was against the checks notes Bombers.

Unanimously liked is not a phrase one usually associates with Baghdad.

However, there was one Bomber who captured the hearts of all voter(s). Maybe there was 1 maybe the whole team voted...

In 3rd place Jabba73
In 2nd place not far ahead Grav

And the winner of the prestigious Barrels award for the round was unanimously Kilroy

I expected a win by default but I believe this may have been well earned. Congrats Kilroy last seen charging towards his new Friday night companion.

Round 10 vs Furies.

In one of my least favourite results of the season the Roys were done by 4 points.

Nevertheless I think some fun was maybe had, mostly when NaturalDisaster wasn't around.

Just realised I haven't waited long enough for Mobbs to count these votes for me.

I was tempted to just give the Barrel to James Colorado but I instead proceeded to waste 10 minutes of my life counting and found a tie!! My diligence and commitment has shafted JC out of half a barrel.

James Colorado & ShaunDuggan are the joint winners of this Barrel as we couldn't afford one each sorry. You can either share it or fight to the death (of Shaun Duggan judging by the avatars).



Edit: crazywildhorse snuck into 3rd just to keep AnUltimateRessie happy.

Round 10 vs Demons

Now this is a result I can get behind. JackNah_8 went nuts in the last kicking something like 8 goals in a row to steal the win and then claimed it was a team effort.

The downhill skiers are always an enjoyable opponent and one to look forward to when the admin scrape together a fixture each season as evidenced by the sheer number of votes I just had to count.

Upon counting the votes I was quite surprised to see a unanimous winner given the number of quality posters.
