2nds Centrals vs Port Adelaide - Round 10 @ Elizabeth

Saturday 11th of June. 2:35pm at X Convenience Oval. (Channel 7 coverage starts 2:30pm)

Pending the injury list: It looks like Fantasia will miss a month with a quad strain, we should be getting McKenzie, Skinner, Mayes, and Jackson back.

Mid-Season draftee Brynn Teakle should make his SANFL Debut. Jed McEntee was an emergency before the bye and didn't play, he should be in here too.

Sam Hayes has been sick, and will miss the AFL game, but might play in this game.

Note since this game is after the AFL game, the sub (EG Frederick) can play.

SANFL listed players yet to appear this season: Butcher, Lobbe, Kennett.

After our loss to North Adelaide, and other clubs playing in our bye round, we still retain 8th spot.

Lokan on SEN says Hayes and Teakle will be the ruck duo here.

Not sure what that means for Visentini, perhaps he'll play down back.

I bet we're the only team ever to have played 4 rucks in the reserves and none in the As.

Looking forward to this game oddly enough. That's a good, well-balanced side.

Want to see how Teakle goes as a ruck / forward and would like Georgie, Duursma, Bergman and Mead to make a statement.

Let them take the game on.

Hayes needs to move to another club. When you're the only viable ruckman on the list and you're not getting picked over a makeshift combination of Finlayson, Marshall, and f*cking SPP, your cards have been marked and it's time to look elsewhere.
If only Hinkley would get sacked.

Sorry for the intrusion, is Mayes on the outer to the point that he cant get a game in the seconds now?

He was an AFL emergency, if he isn’t used, then he can play SANFL.

Are we ever going to see the return of the butch, part 2?

Unlikely if we've got Hayes, Visentini, Teakle, Georgiades, Lord, Surman, Weidemann (and down the line Lycett) to choose from.

The story out of the Club is that Sam Hayes was ill. Is that the truth of the matter? There seem to be some confusion as to why Hayes was not in the AFL side. Maybe Hayes was ill but was dropped anyway?
Bassett made it clear he was dropped. He then had the insensitivity to say that our centre square work couldn’t be any worse than it has been. Is that on Hayes, who has done well with H/Os and H/Os to advantage but not follow-up play, or on Wines, Butters, Rozee and Drew who seem to pick and choose when they apply themselves in the centre square?

Our clearance gameplan is based around Lycett.

Lycett's job is to hit the ball down to his own feet to follow it up himself.

Trying anything like actual rucking is frowned upon by our coaching ranks.

We had 18 hit outs to the opposition's 41 yet we got within 12 points of them. Imagine, we might have won if we had a genuine ruckman instead of 2 part timers. Sam Hayes has averaged just under 30 hit outs a game this year so if he was not ill and could have played it was a puzzling non selection for sure.

It will be interesting to see how Brynn Teakle goes at SANFL level over the next few weeks. If you go to the trouble of signing the guy mid season and he shows some form it does not make sense to ignore him. Then again Ken does some strange things.

Let's hope Brynn's debut for the Maggies is better than Briney Tinkle in a bluey I saw yonks ago. ;)
