I agree it’s very frustrating. It’s hard to see Voss making wholesale changes in light of this. This is absolute bullshit that our VFL side has no game this week. It's the worse competition, they hardly every play!
I agree with a lot of this except Binns. Also think Fogarty survives for another week or possibly two, basically until Durdin has staked a claim to a spot.I don't care who is available, we can not go into another game with Fogarty and Evans.
B: Silvagni Weitering Docherty
HB: Saad McGovern Cowan
C: Acres Cripps Walsh
HF: Boyd Kemp Motlop
F: Young Curnow White
OB: DeKoning Cerra Hewett
F: Haynes Binns Lord Cottrell
SUB: Moir
EM Carroll Wilson Hollands
IN
White - Small forward with pace. I'm keen to see what he has to offer. Kicked goals in a weak VFL side so deserves a go.
Binns - He is a better winger than Cottrell or Hollands who get lost out there.
Lord - Plenty of onball time, replacing Walsh's minutes.
Moir - Gives us the ability to make our forward line more dangerous.
OUT
Evans - Extremely poor footballer.
Fogarty - Very poor footballer.
Williams - Injured.
Hollands - His tackling, disposal and lack of body strength have been really unimpressive. Not offering enough offensively.
So badly out of form at the moment, he is one of the main culprits for all the stuff we do wrong…ball watching, not lowering his eyes when he kicks, not handballing to players running past, asking for the ball in bad positions, not manning up correctly at stoppages…I think I’ve finally come round to the idea of playing Walsh on the wing. it also allows us to play Lord, who of our reserves looks the most ready to step up and contribute at league level.Tactical
Walsh needs to learn to run again. Off half forward as a high half forward who gets up and helps out the defence as well as play him as the change wingman. As a forward I want to see him impact as a linkup player but also hit the scoreboard. Lord comes in to take up some of Walsh's onball minutes.
Understand the sentiment but I still prefer Boyd off half back, provided he can get involved.Boyd to go to half forward. He has to be an upgrade on Fogarty, has to be. He will be able to play the defensive forward role. He will give us some pace, tackling and genuine pressure up forward. What he also gives us is terrific kicking as opposed to Fogarty's terrible kicking.
Binns is not good enough. The Saints match sim can’t be unseen. IMO he probably needs to be offloaded at the end of the year, although I’m not sure how given he is contracted for next year.Binns is arguably the second best winger on the list. Hollands and Cottrell are terrible wingmen.
I agree it’s time for White and Moir to get a go. Their form in the reserves is arguably as good as Evans. Williams is injured again so someone will need to come in.White comes in and replaces Evans. Evans is slow, has no outstanding skills and his impact is practically nothing. So Whatever White brings, he brings pace, so that is something. He also kicked a reasonable amount of goals in a poor VFL side so who knows, he may hit the scoreboard as opposed to not scoring at all.
I don’t see this as an issue as much as others. It’s not possible to play helter skelter all game long. Pretty much all teams revert to this at some stage during a game.Stop going to the trap. The trap is the lose player the opposition let you have on the boundary. They want you to do this so they can set you up for a bomb forward and an intercept. It allows the opposition to close down space. Get the ball more central before going inside 50. Once we are past the halfway point we need to bring the ball in. Drop the negative crap where we keep it wide because we are scared of the rebound. It's not 2010.
Docherty was an all Australian half back in 2017. He isn’t close to being that player and never will be again. Sadly he is finished and should really retire before the MSD so we can replace him.Docherty - AA half back has been played everywhere but there. It's simple, play him at half back and give him some minutes in the middle. Give him a job perhaps. Get him going. Last thing he needs is to be played out of positioned and thrown all around the place.
IMO he can only play as a lockdown play. As soon as Cinc is ready to play league then Cotts will be out of the team. He can be the sub in the interim.Close IN/OUT
OUTS
Cottrell - If he wasn't playing slightly better than Hollands he would be out. But he is hanging in there until someone steps up and demands a spot.
McGovern is who is he is…a front runner. I would play Haynes ahead of him every day of the week. Young has gone ahead of him IMO. He should be dropped. We can do it this week even with a few out. Hopefully Voss pulls the trigger this week. If I were Voss he wouldn’t get another game this season.McGovern - He's not playing his best football. What is keeping him in is we know he is a damn good player.
Docherty - Same as McGovern.
Not sure you can debut a guy coming off an injury and not having played for over a fortnight. I think his time is near however. IMO Luca is the more obvious option to come in.INS
Carroll - He's close but he needs a little more VFL time. Get over the ankle and get some consistent form. He just has it.
Wilson is miles away IMO. He would have to have a solid month of good reserves games before he’d be even close to being considered for selection.Wilson - Billy has the pace that this team needs. He probably has better body strength than Hollands but Hollands is more experienced and a little older.
He has barely played all year. I want to get him in but given his injury history he is not the sort to rush straight back in at the highest levelDurdin - Desperate times. I've seen Durdin do it at AFL level before. He's a better player when going than a lot getting games now. But again, injuries.
60 unforced errors.60 what?
60 unforced errors.
Interchanges ?60 what?
I brought tickets before the year started for hawks , bulldogs , kangas and pies and going to Adelaide to watch the baggers …. Lucky for me I know someone at the AFL and my tickets were 12 bucks a piece for level 1 ..We bought tickets many weeks ago, Ill never do that again and cant bring myself to go.
Why even contribute in this thread, the only change will be Williams if he is still injured.....Voss keeps the same personel no matter what outcome!!! So everyone is getting RSI including myself for nothing posting here!!!![]()
I said that already! You just did!
Ollie deserves to be dropped. has virtually been untouchable since he was drafted.A young kid will take the brunt of Voss’ ire… so he’ll go back to the well of older players and not make an example of a conditional McGov, will drop Ollie and Cow, find the next 2 oldest available and bring them in.
I foresee another game where Cripps is on the bench arguing with Voss, Pies players ridiculing us for doing the same mistakes over again, and DeGoey to get back in form and kick 10.
Still would keep Ollie in the side over Mcgovenrn, Haynes, Williams, Edwards, Acres from last night.Ollie deserves to be dropped. has virtually been untouchable since he was drafted.
Give him a good spell in the VFL

This move has to be made. Please LordAcres out, I’m over him not being able to pick up a ball off the deck and sky balling it inside 50
Move Walsh to the wing and bring Lord back in to take his spot in the guts
And won the flag from 5th.Just going to mention again, Brisbane started 0-3 last year. How did that end for them?
Big statement Tenacious!Out: McGovern, Hayes, Hollands, Acres, Docherty, Motlop, Evans, Williams
