Issue is with the lack of a VFL match this week will players back from injury even be considered for selection.
100% agree. I can’t see the coaches giving Carroll a debut when he missed the prior week with injury.

Similarly I doubt White and B Campo are going to debut if they didn’t play this week.

Also they are hardly going to rush back injury prone types like Durdin and Fantasia on no game time.

I think the best we can hope for is Lord, Harry and Luca coming in for Doc, Gov and Williams.

As much as Evans shouldn’t be in the team I can’t see how he misses out especially if Williams is injured.

Boyd Weit Jsos
Cow Haynes Saad

Cottrell Cripps Walsh
TDK Cerra Hewett

Moir Mackay Motlop
White Curnow Kemp

IC: Young Lord / Acres Hollands Fogarty Doc
Durdin E Hollands L campo
Gov

Obviously Mackay and E Hollands are an unknown. Cant see a huge amount of change due to how thin we are. Lord in, because I do not want to see Walsh at stoppage again.

Don't particularly have a good feeling about this at all.

Wasn’t there a scratchie arranged with Footscray?
At least some sort of a run, if so.

This game is a good old fashioned coach killer…

Gee Francis Evans is not up to this level, only way Voss can save himself & get something out of the season is to back in some young kids for games on end.

Would rather give Will White some games, we need a injection of youth.

Agree with most BB.

I think Lord, Moir and Lucas are a good chance to come in for Williams (inj), Doch and Evans.

Gov survives as it gives us the option of swinging JSOS forward especially if Harry isn’t ready to return.

I would play White (or Moir) over Evans in a heartbeat but do you honestly think Voss will drop him for either of those guys, especially as neither would have played a game this week?

I'm once again confused with those dropping Motlop. I understand there are some that don't rate him as a player/prospect but can you seriously tell me with a straight face he was one of the worst players on the ground yesterday. I had him as our best small forward the last two weeks. Evans and Fogarty were far poorer and Williams of course will be a test with an injury.

Motlop has 11 tackles (5 inside 50) the last two weeks. Has 15 score involvements as well in that time. And has kicked a goal in both games. They are great numbers. Like most small forwards he does tend to fade in and out of games but for me he is first picked amongst the smalls at the moment. Personally am liking his development and yes I know that is a VERY unpopular opinion on this board.

Agree on that point but that is one of Vossy's major flaws as a coach, unwilling to be adventurous and trying different things.

Agreed 100% He has 8 shots at goal in 3 games - granted some bad luck but that'll flip and he is essentially on pace for a 30 goal year while increasing both his disposals and tackle numbers, and doing all that in a losing team. He is also only 21 and missed most of last season injured. Motlop is almost one of our few shining lights.

I think Docherty should go back to the sub role. That was planned for week 1 and despite a couple of errors (amongst many in that debacle) he was actually pretty good - 14 disposals and two shots at goal in a quarter. If the wind blows differently he kicks those two goals, we win the game and he looks a hero. Hawthorn have shown the way with older guys (Breust and Gunston) playing as the sub and it has worked well for them.

Otherwise, only change I make is probably McKay in for Young if he is available. Hollands back to the wing and Boyd into defence. Maybe try Moir or White instead of Evans, who gave us nothing.

We weren't far off against the Bulldogs and the emphasis has to be on getting back to our best, not shuffling deck chairs around.

Walsh was better last night. Hewett and Cerra also good. They, along with Cripps, need to go up one more notch and have scoreboard impact. If we can get 3-4 midfield goals we win against the Bulldogs, and Collingwood are a similar calibre team.

Young was actually a surprise yesterday and probably doesn't deserve to be dropped but if McKay is back they need to pull that trigger. Can't add a tall for a small. Evans should be no where near this team. Not only does he not impact but he only played 60% game time yesterday. Just a waste of a spot.

Still would keep Ollie in the side over Mcgovenrn, Haynes, Williams, Edwards, Acres from last night.
Most of those players won't be there next year or the year after
Ollie is young and needs to appreciate what it means to be an AFL player for the next decade. A good "learning" spell at VFL level is what he needs for his education

I read a lot of comments on young players not being ready. To counter that argument, they don't have much to match in output for the regular players in our bottom 10.

We keep them on the list for 2-3yrs without any Senior opportunity, if they aren't up to it, why keep them? Time to see what some of them are made of at Senior level, give them the same opportunity the plodders are given during our epic form the past 12-13 games.

Fogarty, Evans, Hollands, Docherty, Acres (back injury has inhibited his form), Williams (Injured again), Haynes, McGovern are all below AFL standard this year.
