AFL team news: Blues recall two

The Blues have made two changes for the Round 3 clash with the Western Bulldogs.

I feel like we are at least a chance to win tonite.

So hard to know how we'll go.

I have no idea how we'll go but for me it's almost not about who's in or out but how we play.

Nothing I've seen in the first two rounds suggests any progression in game style from last year (ie same old same old) and I have very little confidence we can keep it up for 4 quarters.

Small lapses in brutality at the contest seem to generate rapids scores against us and our secret weapon of dump kicking it everywhere appears to be easily countered.

My heart wants Carlton to come out on top but my tipping brain has picked the Dogs.

Sorry if that has already been pointed out but Kennedy left the Blues to go to the Dogs for less forward minutes and more midfield minutes…Kennedy starting at half forward for the Dogs…I’m sure he’ll play in the mid but just seems odd.

I’m a fan of MK. So bummed we traded him.

Miffed by Evans, if we wanted that type, surely Moir or White were better options

Every team has role players. I doubt that Frank would be playing if Harry, Elijah and Orazio (and maybe Corey) were. I think it says that our list is is like every other in that if first team players aren't available then role players have to come in and take their spots.

My frustration is that with those guys out, it shouldn't be Evans that gets the call up - White or Moir would be better suited to provide some x-factor and another avenue to goal. Evans should be depth coverage for Fogarty.

Moir unlikely to be able to play out more than a quarter at a decent intensity. I'd have liked White, but we don't know how well integrated he is into the setup yet.

Bringing great energy in the VFL, but doesn't look like he'd run through any contact and isn't putting up a big number of impressive defensive efforts or score involvements. I think he might motor past Evans, but we'll see.

I’m not saying senior players can’t be dropped but we need to be realistic about who can come in for them. It’s not realistic to pick Wilson who has barely shown signs he is up to Reserves standard let alone League. Carroll looks like he is ready to play league but how can you possible pick a debutant when he didn’t play the week before because of injury? Unfortunately bad timing for him but I think his time is approaching. Conversely i think Moir and White are ready for a game and either should have been picked instead of Evans this week.

Personally I would’ve kept Luca in this week and dropped McGovern who has been rancid in the first 2 games and average last year. IMO he is the epitome of everything that is wrong with our club. It would have been a statement to the players that there are consequences for not performing. In an ideal world Young wouldn’t be in the team either but we don’t really have a viable alternative to replace him. Lemney, in a similar vein to Wilson, is barely surviving at Reserves level and simply isn’t an option. It beggars belief we didn’t take McMahon in the SSP.

Hard to drop him though as he is the only guy we have who can deliver very well on either size of his body. His has great skills, often think if only he played with JSOS intensity ( that's on our coaches)

I love Kennedy as much as the next guy but he isn't the difference maker for us - if Smith was fit Voss would be getting slaughtered if Kennedy was keeping him out of the team.

I'm the same but it was the final last year as well as the Richmond game that has made me question what is going on.

How a team can go into a final and simply not try from the first bounce astounds me. Then to lead the worst side in the AFL by over 40 points and lose is unacceptable

In my world this is inexcusable
