Doc in the FP is a disasterous idea.

Send him to HBF for god sake.

Release Ollie’s run to the freaking wing.

Don’t play Kemp & SOS in the same half.

We need defensive pressure to stop their rebound.

Doc at FP ain’t the answer!
I guess my thinking/response to him being picked in a pocket is that:

Doch needs to get into some sort of AFL form quickly - I don't think he is anywhere near his best form atm. The best part of his game remains an ability tot stick a tackle and kick a running goal from some distance those two attributes suit a forward defensive role.

Watching our team selections role out is like pulling teeth - my own, by me & without an anaesthetic!

I’m pretty glass-half-full & don’t prescribe to the baby/bath water mentality.

Doc to HBF is such a no-brainer given the hole created by Newman’s injury.

Ollie at HB makes my heart beat faster & for all the wrong reasons.

Why play him off HB when we miss his transition into F50?

If we can’t cover defensively in F50 tonight without Doc in the F pocket - I’ll blow myself up!

It’s going to be a rough night… between tooth extraction & explosions at my place…

Really struggling to see a path to victory here.

Charlie underdone, midfield will struggle in the contest against Libba, Richards, Kennedy, Sanders and Freijah. Defence looks shaky at best. Smalls not hitting the scoreboard enough. Wings not playing well either.

I can't see it, but hoping for the best obviously.

Voss is like a kid with new toys, seemingly has to play with them no matter what.

Last year we were subjected to 15 abysmal games from Orazio Fantasia.

And now it looks like it's Francis Evans turn to run around and do nothing for a year.

I think i'm going to watch Netflix tonight.

Thought you were done until 2034 ...

At this point I'm starting to doubt if I'll ever seen another Carlton premiership.

I've given up on this list. We're a full rebuild away from competing.

See you all in 2034.

Bulldogs 13th for clearances, 16th for tackles and 14th for contested possession this year Blues 2nd, 2nd and 1st

If we get beaten it will much more likely be on the outside and with the bulldogs superior ball use than the contest.

Dogs coming off their grand final and we have an extra day’s break.
Think we will win the contest and try to shut down the game in our forward half.
It’s Plan A, B and C.

Geez watching them you wouldn't think that. They have contested beasts all round the ball.

I'm both stunned but completely unsurprised that Evans got picked. It's nothing personal with him, but like another poster put more succinctly, he seems like another one of Voss' favourites that gets games seemingly from nowhere while others are banished to the nether world.

You can't tell me him playing seniors is more valuable and impactful that Moir would be. Moir had more of an impact playing as a sub for 2 games last yr than Evans is likely to have in 2 full games.

He's shown at 2 clubs he's clearly not up to AFL standard but for us he's a week 1 starter and gets brought back in at the first opportunity possible after being dropped. That's a problem.

Think we will win the contested ball, it's about stopping them coming through the front of stoppages if they win it

Darcy is a worry, but so too our entire forward line

Serious question. Would Evans make any other side in the comp?

Was literally the last person listed in the whole comp when we signed him.
I think this second comment is worth keeping in mind: he was expecting to ease into a VFL contract and pick up work this year, and got a late opportunity after we tried to find a tall (poorly).

White was actually the last, after the deadline through an exemption.

My point? He's probably in the same boat as Charlie and Doc, working his way up to a decent fitness level.

I think he is at Owies' level of competency with better disposal and better crumbing* ability and top speed, but less endurance.

He shouldn't be playing right now, but he's not the worst signing in recent history.
