Let's re-draft Symes!

I was responding to the post that said he was crapola, nothing more nothing less. He also had 6 less disposal than our golden boy Vince who has been given a free ride for years.

He may not be capable at AFL level but that doesn't mean he had a bad game last night, so going by the stats he was one of the Legs better players.

Watched the Legs get pumped by the Eagles. Kicked 3 to 3 quarter time and 4 in the last. Bernie racked them up at will and Smith got through the game well. Legs had a few out, but they looked like they had 2 less on the ground all night so dominant were the Eagles. Grigg was crapola like everyone else for the Legs. Sure know how to pick my Norwood games.:(

I hope we've made it clear to Vince that he needs to go back to the SANFL perform for an extended period of time before we consider him again. For mine Vince needs to show that he's committed to playing his best football every week, not just when it suits him. It would be easy to say "Vince played well, he's a class above SANFL, lets bring him back", but the correct thing to do would be to see if he can reproduce for an extended period. Vince needs to decide whether he wants to be an AFL football and actually commit to being the best he can be, otherwise we need to move on and give his spot to another player.

I like the fact that he's kicking the ball so much, he has an absolute weapon in his kicking and if he's to make it at AFL level he'll need to learn to harness it.

IMO Vince needs 4 weeks in SANFL .....one week never changes attitude

See if he prefers playing in front of 3,000 or 43,000 people

He does appear to be on an upward curve of development ......a deadly left footer in the team would be Gold

Half time at Unley. Pretty tight game so far

Riley clearly the best of the Crows players. Getting a fair bit of the ball, and using it pretty well. Love his lateral movement - very comfortable in traffic, as we all know. Clearance machine. One of Sturt's best two players today.

Martin has been alright. Getting the ball a bit, and pretty damaging with it. Maybe not standing out as much as usual, so far.

McIntyre I think relies too much of good delivery for a guy his size. Makes the most of the opportunities that his team provide him with, but I'm not sure he creates enough by himself. I know it's easy to fall out of the game in the forward pocket, but he does seem to go missing more often than you'd like. Having said that, his one goal was very opportunistic. Tackled a bloke in the goalsquare to the ground in the middle of a pack, snatched the ball somehow, bobbed up and snapped truly. Very poor defensive work from South, but great work from McIntyre.

Tambling hasn't done a whole lot, but he does seem to be playing with a lot of intensity. I thought Tambling was good when Craig played in those few times in the AFL, and I'd still like to see him get another chance, but I've seen him half a dozen times with Sturt, and he's never looked a class above. He's had a couple kicked on him today, and often seems to be half a yard too far behind his man. I'd still play him over Jaensch.

Graham is hard to get excited about. Beating Dowdell comfortably in the ruck and getting a bit of the ball, but just not especially impressive for a guy with as much AFL experience and size as him. He does, however, seem to be developing a good relationship with Riley. He's tapped it right down his throat a number of times.

Didn't notice whether Atkins made the final side, but I haven't seen him at all, so I assume not.

For South, Dowdell has been beaten in the ruck, but he has been okay around the ground. He moves pretty well, and seems to like getting his hands dirty. I like him, but he has a LONG way to go before he's AFL ready.

Hartigan is pretty good on the rebound for a big guy - but not as good defensively as I'd hope. Doing okay on Duldig, but had a couple kicked on him. Probably needs to work on his core strength a bit, as he's been outmuscled a couple of times, but his positioning has been okay. He plays a little like Bock, actually, but lacks his body strength. Don't know how much improvement he has left in him, however.

South's midfield got on top, and pretty much destroyed Sturt in the third. Cross, Gotch and Liddle have been too good at the stoppages.

The game is over, but I don't have that much else to add.
Riley has seriously fallen out of the game. Went from close to BoG to barely sighted.

Martin has stepped up, and has been one of Sturt's few 4 quarter players. 2 goals so far, with a hand in a few more.

Tambling is still a mixed bag. Took a great grab despite being against two South players, but a minute later he kicked a very sloppy ball across the defensive 50 and coughed up an easy goal. He never stops trying but I think he has a concentration issue as he seems to mess up the easy things too often.

Graham hasn't done a whole lot in the second half. Brooksby has been beating him in the ruck. Graham does not look impressive when up forward, by the way. No way can we play him in Jenkins' role.

McIntyre plays for frees too often, but he did take a fantastic contested mark at one point. Picked up a minor injury but came back on I think.

Dowdell did very little after half time.

Hartigan probably had 3 or so kicked on him today, but his run from defence was good all day. From what I've read about his other games, this would have been his best so far. I wouldn't recommend anyone get too excited, but he looks alright with the ball in hand and seems to get a bit of it.

On today's performance, the only one who deserves a run with the Crows is Martin. Very solid game. Riley's fitness might have let him down today, but he's not long back from injury. Needs another game or two before being considered for senior duty.

Despite what a lot of people say, I still have hope for Martin. He isn't the most talented guy, but just works so damn hard that he gets himself into the game. He's hard at the contest and knows where the goals are. I would have him in our forward-line over a few blokes at the moment.

Not the mosty talented. this is where you are wrong . I live nrear footy park and go to numerous sessions . If one player stands out on the track it is Brodie. Both with his speed, lateral movement and kicking. he is actually very talented, The stupid thing is he was given a few chances and suffered long knee injuries. Since then Adelaide seems intent on using him as a specialist substituate that always makes room for incoming player and one year tried to make a defender out of him. I say play him on the ball or wing if you know anything about football. Pity is alot of the coaches football knowledge is shite , all they know is how to make great Anglo saxon motivational speeches and play the correct corporate card. Sando from what I have seen is a new coach but is not willing to bring in new players - just plays it safe. there is also no reason why Crouch should be in the team before martin. martin is in the BOGs nearly every game he ploays in the SANFL and gives us what we need speed and ball carrying. Crouch as good as he may become is a Thomson type- hard at it but not a ball carrier. We have plenty of these types at present, VB, Wright, Thommo, Patrenko. We need players that can cover the ground- this is where Port exposed us .

Ins: Laird, Kerridge, Lynch

Crouch is in the team because he is more talented than Martin and has a bigger ceiling. At least we've identified that.....

Yeah, our side has 11 players under 50 games this week, and 4 players with 2 or less games. I'd say Sando doesn't mind playing the younger guys at all.

Lyons late in the 4th quarter with 25 possies and 6 clearances, Nutters done fug all and the one you are holding your breath about, one Shaun "Smack" Mckernan has a goal, nine possies and something that took my eye, 5 tackles

Exactly. Can't bring Bernie back in after 1 good game as really needs to earn his place back. Dangerous situation for him as someone like Kerridge may make the most of his opportunity. If not, Lyons is next in the queue ahead of Bernie.

Not talented....... , the guy has loads of it. Lateral movement, speed, ball carrying ability , hard at it and good skills what else can you ask from from a footballer. 50% more than what alot of our squad has. Too many people comment about brodie without reallly knowing his game.

Is that you Brodie? You keep posting the same thing. I like Brodie. I thought that was apparent by my post. I certainly think he has more talent than many in our team. If you really want to get down to the nitty gritty, you'd have to argue ALL footballers are talented.

Yeah I agree. Of the multitude of list hoggers we have on our list, he seems to be one with upside. Would love to see him come in and be given the same sort of free ride that players such as McKay, Vince, Jaensch etc have been given. Give him 6 weeks or so before we rule a line through him.
