We all knew it prior to the referendum. Giving Jacinta Price a platform had one purpose, and one purpose only ... get someone who 'looks' Indigenous to be a leading No campaigner. That gave a licence for people to say 'See? Even the Aboriginals are against it!' That purpose has been fulfilled, and her 'work' is done.

That Price, just like Mundine, gave up being Aboriginal years ago to jump on the colonist gravy train. She served and continues to serve the reactionaries and the far right Christians who bank roll her, really well. The token blackfellas serve the LNP well.

Has the Victorian Liberals ever done a review of the 2018 and 2022 Victorian state election defeats, or is it placed in the 'too hard to do' basket? And seeing the jungle drums are beating loudly about the real chance of Victorian Opposition Leader John Pesutto possibly facing a leadership challenge, who'd in their right mind would want to put his/her hand up to be the leader of the Victorian Liberals, with very little or no chance of regaining government from Labor in 2026?

They have been taken over by the far right Pentecostal Christians and the Christian Lobby therefore, no review is needed because doing God's work doesn't need reviewing. That's the Liberals in Victoria, the Liberals in WA, the Liberals in NSW now, and the Liberals in SA who really didn't need the Pentecostals because they were doing such a great job at being Wacky Racers all on their own.

Love this analogy. While specifically targeted at the upcoming nuclear reactors announcement by Dutton, it gets to the very heart of two issues of greatest concern to our democracy:

1. The failure of the alternative government to come up with realistic and relevant policy options around issues of immediate concern to our country; and

2. The systemic failure of the Australian media to act as anything other than partisan publicists and promoters of empty rhetoric.

Dutton lacks the charisma to big a single figurehead of a campaign, so he'll have to rely on his equally inept shadow cabinet to sell stuff like this.

This is Scott Morrison on the subject of equality;

Morrison said the Liberal party wanted women to rise but did not “want to see women rise only on the basis of others (men ) doing worse”

“gender equality isn’t about pitting girls against boys”.

“See, we’re not about setting Australians against each other, trying to push some down to lift others up,”

The pie cannot get bigger, so I am not sure how women can get more of it without it coming at the expense of men - but the Liberals are not that good at math so

Morrison is obviously gone, but Dutton is taking them further right. Dutton has been smart to give women prominent roles doing his dirty work, Jacinta Price and Susan Ley have been very prominent, as have Jane Hume and Michealia Cash.

But it is a reality that more men are getting the preselection spots.
