And yet millions and millions change hands in scams, with no possibility of recovery without the scammer sending it back, or law enforcement physically detaining them to recover the scammed coins.
Most crypto is quite easy for governments and law enforcement to track. There's a conspiracy theory that the US government invented Bitcoin for that reason. Some 'privacy coins' are hard to track, like Monero (XMR) for example. I believe the main exchanges have already unlisted XMR at government request, which makes it difficult for normies to get their hands on it.

If fraud and scamming is the main problem, that problem exists with fiat and credit cards.
