Obviously all good guys that stuck it out tough. Well done to those blokes!
Hopefully they are all rewarded with the efforts they have put in with a win next year, jacob travelled up from geelong every weekend, so made it somewhat worth it in the end, young tyler is only 13 so id say he has a bright future ahead of him. And azza and tony have been around for the last 4 years or so doing it tough like the rest of us and the effort that and heart that they give the club just goes to show.

Congrats to jono pearson the first league medalist from the SGR Giants proof that a vision of a kids first football club can work and does work joining 3 towns for the betterment not only of the game but the most important thing kids playing and enjoying footy .

Lets hope one hungry self centered club doesnt destroy what has become an avenue for local kids to play this great game .

To see former giants players playing senior footy the past few years makes all that hard work worth it long live the giants they maybe small but they can roar :)

You obviously knew what was coming

Interesting, Nagas and Avenel will have a similar situation with Tabilk when both clubs need U14’s , there is enough kids for one club to have u14’s not both.
And yes l have already suggested the senior sides combine to become Tabilk

I guess given the fact all your kids as well as guys up to about 25-26yo now have come through the Tabilk JFC the genuine rivalry between the Lakers and the Swans will never revisit what it once was ... would make a pretty strong and I assume well resourced arrangement if it ever gained legs.

The PDFNL faced similar recently with some wanting another age group , being u11's , and many clubs concerned they wouldn't be able to attract enough numbers. Was piloted by way of a u12 interleague game for a couple of years before being started this year, despite the same concerns from the over whelming majority of clubs about not having enough numbers. Many even suggested it was a waste of time and would never work.
Due to the concerns of many it was introduced as an optional unofficial comp and as the season grew so did the engagement by clubs and so did the numbers to a point where clubs who thought it wouldn't work had 25 plus kids.
U11's ud now a vital part of that comp.
Clubs trying to compete against clubs who have already got well established teams, whilst trying to build , aside from the affect on neighboring clubs including interclub relationships , would appear a recipe for disaster for all concerned.
Footy clubs and the people within them all gain if competitions and clubs , being the one they are in or neighboring, are strong and vibrant.
Hope kdfnl u14's gets off the ground and clubs respect that not all will instantly have 25 players and therefore work to assist those that dont have the numbers.
Junior sport especially at u14 level, needs to be about engagement and development , growing numbers in the sport with winning a distant last in priority.

Murch Toolamba have voted in favour to a move to the MFL

$hit hey

Oh well Jobby get ya Tabilk thing going, we can try rustle up a few either side of the Hume and get something going around this junior footy/senior cricket boundary line hey ;)

Interesting read on the YVMDFNL re the Northern clubs , just a few hints of them not being wanted with the joining of the two leagues.
Good on Murch looking outside the box.
As for cricket Doon , l watched my first game in the Shepp comp , good cricket think l might stick to watching that.
