To be honest, I was cutting it out. But, you don't have to deal with Benny - I do. ;-)
Encourage you to ignore his feedback and go forth and edit out Benny's lame political takes please Kingy.

I don't actually mind politics mixed with sport. And I love Benny's footy reflections and cheeky approach. But sooking about 'minorities' being pandered to is pretty off. That's where this one went wrong for me.

It's your podcast of course, so run it as you wish. But personally I'd draw a line at that kind of thing ✌🏻

Benny's in the 'Bool all week, so we don't know when or if we're recording.

Let's say we are - it will be midweek.

Last week I said it’s not pants off but maybe belt loosed. This week it’s Donald Duck style, shirt on pants off. But it all seriousness a good win against a very good side.
Normally you’d have to stay up very late and turn the dial to SBS to see a spanking like Stanley copped. Def not for young eyes. In last qtr when the game had to be won, he had 0 possessions or tackles and only 4 hit outs. Massive ask for Conway and blitz to take on Gawn, but it’s almost at the stage that Toby would be better learning a lesson from the best, rather than Rhys letting us down light beer style. I thought kolo and SDK did good jobs on curnow and McKay, with 65 inside 50s, limiting them to 5 goals between them was a fair job.
If one can have hamstring awareness, can you also have groin awareness?

Oh how the pundits are back on the cats again and singing our praises! What they forget is our rebuild era of 2023-2023 was tough for us fans!

We are in such a great position to launch again and I just wonder if it’s time to switch the Conway and Stanley management, surely it’s Conway with the month on and Stanley coming into relieve. I’d play Loch Ness against big Maxy this week and give the kid a good solid test.

Benny, my horse (I own the left nostril hair)is running at the bool Thursday, Race 2 number 6 Our Sassy Lady…have you ever had a Sassy Lady? Gamble responsibly.

If Tom Hawkins asks for another year.... do we give it to him?

Last few weeks have been quiet - after 354 games or so its ok too have a few - but in terms of list management does it help or hinder us?

Miers in AA discussion yet and when do oppo coaches start a run with role to counter him? And how could he break it if it eventuated?

Hope Benny survives and you guys gets a chance to record this.

Question:
Our game is quick rebound off half back. Players running forward at speed in unison into space. Even ignoring Hawks dry run of late, would you agree that his game style doesn't suit this? Would you agree that as a giraffe/gazelle hybrid, this game style should on paper suit Neale much better?

How serious do you think tonight's news is regarding Adelaide's apparent interest in bringing Dangerfield "home" to finish has career?

And how many seconds do you think it took Dangerfield to say no after he stopped laughing?

Benny suvived the 'Bool - now it's time to talk Cats and how you've coped with a loss.

Thursday lunchtime recording.
On a scale of 1 to 10 how big was your mental breakdown at Neale's injury? I'm an 11.

Ted, Humphries, and Mullin smashing it in the 2s. How do they get a game?

Bradtke seems to be doing the right things. Is he worth a rookie spot?

K rock Football Kingy. Great job getting a laugh out of Zuthrie this week. First time he has loosened that vice like grip on his emotions...kinda good as that is how he plays footy.

Please ask Scotty when we see Hardie, Knevitt or Mannagh again. Don't bother on Lochness, we hv his stock reply for that

Look we were due for a stinker and a loss won’t hurt but It was still frustrating. That game had a real stench about it. Credit to melb for playing that defensive style for a win but unsure if it holds up when the whips are cracking in September, and by whips I don’t mean sexyland
I’m one that’s constantly frustrated by Rhys Stanley, and surely now Conway gets a couple of games in whilst Rhys sits in the naughty corner. However also must be criticism at the cats for not picking up any sort of ruckman better than Stanley since 2015 when he came to Geelong.
Anyway lots of blokes had a real overflowing septic tank of a game sat. I felt with danger out, it was an error to not play parfit, particularly when bruhn was injured. Also felt backline lacked a bit of pace, perhaps mullin comes in.
Having said all that, to be 7 and 1, and have the vfl boys third on ladder with hardly any injuries, we are sitting well
Go cats

Are you worried about Hawkins at all? He’s been Benjamin Button, aging backwards, the last few years. But the last 4 weeks he has been starting to look mortal.

The positive from Saturday night was that we were still close despite quite a few of our players having a number 2 of a game. We left enough on the field to fertilize through the winter. Everyone is bound to have a stinker every now and then.

I am not convinced Hawkins is playing as bad as the media is carrying on about (no doubt he will be this week's topic for all and sundry). My take is that he is still providing plenty of other benefits to the game. It's happened before (memory eludes the timeframe) but he still draws the best defenders and they don't dare leave him even when he isn't kicking sausage rolls and he is good at keeping them out of the contest if the ball isn't directed to Tommy. From what I have seen in the last few weeks he appears to be working harder on his defensive pressure, to his credit.

If anything, he needs to stop giving away the 50s. He seems to be targeted at times by umpires and needs to be more careful than others.
You have probably covered this in the first segment, but was keen to hear your thoughts on him.

Nothing else matters
Water is no longer wet.
Sun is not warm
The sky is not blue
Send in the clowns - ( first and last Sondhiem musical reference but if you know, you'll know.)

all because Scratcher Neale rolled a @#%$@#% ankle badly with 16:40 gone in the last 1/4 of the VFL match V Dolphins executing the one thing he needed to work on - his pack marking.

No justice in footy.

NONE - and the neighbours got an earful of Victoria Park outer language too. None to kind.

Need info on the ankle and how long he'll be out - Please Kingy at Scotty next presser get that one in.

Hardie, Clohesy, Mullin alll excellent in VFL ( granted not great oppo) but should get a look in this week dont you think?

GO Catters.

Frustrating game, Demons had it on their terms and we couldn’t get it back on ours. We’ll need a way to combat those types of games as not sure the run and gun will work in finals pressure. Everyone needs to chill on Hawkins, he’s a gun who has had a couple of quiet games but will come good. Our delivery into the forward line on the weekend didn’t do him any favours.
Lawson Humphries - kid looks good and doing well in the Scoobies. What’s the word on him Kingy and where do they see him playing if his opportunity comes?

I’ve been a defender of Stanley for a while but past few weeks he has stunk it up - albeit against quality rucks.

Chris Scott post match weirdly highlighted that we “won the hit outs” against Melbourne (Stanley 21 v Gawn 20). He surely also knew that Gawn has 4 CM, 5 CLR, 2 IN50 v Stanley 0 CM, 1 CLR and 0 IN50s.

Is Stanley just a pretty good mature ruckman whose performance looks terrible sometimes against premier ruckman (Gawn, etc)? Or is he a natural forward that we asked to play ruck when he joined the Cats and occasionally it shows? Or is he just really bad?

Toby Conway not listed on the injury list, but Chris Scott saying today he is out with a hip flexor. What's the deal?
