I’d say it pulled in a few in town for LIV golf. 40,000 people from interstate have travelled to Adelaide for the golf.

That is a great crowd for Port as they usually don't get above 40k very often at AO hopefully the Cats v Blues will get 85+ tomorrow at the G.

Given this, it is a miracle that 5000 will rock up and watch the smallest Victotian club get slaughtered week after week.

Make no mistake, in every secondary market North have entered - whether it be Sydney, Canberra, the Gold Coast or Tasmania - they've failed to cultivate a following.

Given this, is it any surprise the AFL gave the Dogs the goldfields?

Well its not 'week after week' as they only play in Hobart twice a year. And GC and GWS are both easily smaller supporter bases than North so they are not the smallest team in the comp.They got small crowds in some of those secondary markets you mention even when they were an on field dominant force.

North need to relocate to Canberra, the gap just gets wider and wider for them each year and being in the doldrums this long only makes it worse. They also don't have a natural region to grow into in Victoria and given time Canberra would embrace them as their own. 9 Canberra, 2 marvel (plus Vic away games).

The Giants, to be fair, have done a far better job at growing in Canberra than North ever did in the decade leading up to the Gold Coast move.

My family live in the region and everyone they are all GWS members and many people in the region seem to support the Giants according to them.
They also reckon the Giants do some amazing work in the area

What an embarrassment for the AFL and footy in general!

That has to be one of the worst AFL crowds in a supposed Australian Football heartland on a fine day in a very long time = time to get North out of the Tassie and put the millions they get from the Tassie Govt/Taxpayers towards the coming Tassie team as the Tasmanian football public clearly are not interested in North anymore.

And as for North they are becoming a big problem for the AFL and even with Clarkson as coach and help from the AFL don't seem to improving and are now an embarrassment and it is hard to see them winning a game this season!
