*Casboult will not play another game in navy Blue. Unless he goes to Melbourne
Cripps finishes 2nd in the brownlow
Cripps becomes Captain
The 66 game rebuild is more like 132 games

List changes will be minimal.

Our VFL team will be filled with a good mix of experience and youth.

Sam Walsh is a smooth moving blue chip midfielder who Bailey Smith 14 disposals couldnt keep up with Walsh 29 disposals in Metro v Country.

McGovern and Fasolo has one foot in the Blues dressing room

Our 2nd round picks will be shopped for players that fit the 22-26 year old profile - otherwise they are going to this deep draft.

Our 2019 1st pick will be traded

We are going to nab Free Agent this year.

Mcgovern for pick 12 and a pick between 20-25 comes back
SoS on trades 2 picks in the 20s for a pick between 13 and 16- used on another mid
Markov comes for a 4th rounder or Jones/Rowe and a 3rd.
Setterfield for a 2nd
Shiel goes to Essendon.
We land Gaff
Mason Blakey and Fisher Rookied
Le Bois stays and develops. He was tracking Ok before injury.

Yeah, but I’m tipping u have your own thoughts about what will happen- so take a stab at what you think will happen
Yeah good point

Ok, realistically
We’ll get Fasolo and maybe a Markov, Miles type
60% confident we’ll get Mc Govern
40% confident we’ll get Setterfield
20% we’ll get Shiel

But having said all that, with a good run with injuries and natural improvement from our youngsters we’ll win 6-8 games next season and then a “big fish” will see the positives, and we’ll land one, maybe 2, end of next season.
Both Harry M and Charlie will kick 30 plus goals next season.
Kruez and Murph will both be done by end of next year.
Cripps and Doc, joint Captains next season.

Sure:

Pick 1 stays.

Shiel is this year for 2019 first and a second round

McGovern for a mid-late teens pick

S. Mitchell as midfield coach

Markov traded for a late pick

Fasolo as free agent

Walsh for pick 1

No Friday night games next year, maybe 1-2 Thursdays

Draft B. Silvagni, W Hickmott late.

Graham, Kerridge delisted.

H. Goddard DFA

Pretty much on the same thoughts as above.

- Walsh at Pick 1. Will take 3 or 4 players at the draft due to our heavy recruiting of mature bodies.
- Casboult to be traded, with a year remaining.
- Jones to be traded only if we receive an offer that tickles our fancy in order to give us more currency.
- Fasolo as a FA.
- Shiel and Setterfield in for 2019 1st Rnd and a 2018 2nd Rnd pick.
- M. McGovern for PP - I think we are going to be given 19. May be 12. Who knows.
- SOS to go for someone during the trade period who's not been mentioned yet. Will be of pretty decent profile.
- S. Mitchell as midfield coach.
- Cripps named captain after a close vote. Docherty as vice-captain.
- Plowman removed from the leadership group for now.
- Graham, LeBois and one more to be further delisted. The extra depends on our movements and if Jones is to leave or not.
- Finish with 6-8 wins next season.
- Simpson and Thomas to retire end of next season.
- Club gets rid of Nike at the end of next season and signs with Adidas or Puma in a lucrative deal.
- If Shiel, Setterfield and Walsh arrive, Cripps wins the Brownlow in 2019.
- If Shiel arrives, finishes top 3 in the BNF.

I'm sorry i touched a nerve by the insult, but the insult is from constant poor decision making.

Hitouts don't win games, Richmonds 2nd ruck is SHUAN GRIGG!

We have Jed Lamb, he does what he can to put his opponent off, if Casboult is stupid enough to react then he is still stupid. He takes things to far and gets frustrated and starts giving free kicks away. It is Mental weakness, Sicily, Motlop, are classic examples of Lamb exploiting mental weakness, Casboult got exploited for mental weakness + poor decision making, hence the insult.

i thought he was going to be a great player, but he doesn't get enough of the ball, then when he does get it he makes poor decisions. Goal Kicking is not great either 48.8% over his career.

What about clearances? Richmond are ranked 17th for clearances, probably fair to say it has a fair bit to do with being the 2nd worst team for hitouts. They also rank 9th for contested possessions which would be affected by their inability to win first use of the ball at the stoppage.

I wouldn't go and build a game plan around mimicking any of that. I reckon as/if Callum Moore comes on and if Lynch does get to the Tigers you'll start to see Grigg lose his 'relief ruckman' title as Jack won't be the only forward of the ball who's taller than 6'1".

My totally uneducated guess is.............

Pick 1 gets traded, most likely to GWS.
We trade in Shiel and Setterfield. (2 x 1sts with a pick swap to our benefit)
We trade our PP for McGovern (Think it will be mid first round)
We trade for Scrimshaw (2nd and Casboult with a player added - Brodie or Lyons?)
Fasolo and Libba added in FA.
Goddard rookied.
Trade for Markov.
Take a punt on a State League forward.
Draft Silvagni, Hickmott and project ruck/State League player.
Delist Graham who gets picked up by GCS. Kerridge Retained. Rowe retires.
New director of coaching appointed. Mitchell in, Barker out plus others.

...and my absolute roughie, which wins me the shiny badge.

Cerra quietly asks for trade home. We do trade for Fisher and pick swap.

Nice roughie :thumbsu:

My NTP for 2018:

* Cripps wins the Brownlow Medal - Mentions Chris Judd in his acceptance speech and camera pans to Dylan Shiel with smile on his face.

* Dylan Shiel becomes a Blue - Mentions supporting the club as a kid as one of the deciding factors of moving to the Navy Blue.

* Pick #1 used to draft Jack Lukosius - Meaning whoever end up with Pick 1 selects JL, this includes us if we keep the pick.

* Jesse Hogan requests trade home to WA - Fremantle overpay but it's a win for the Dockers!

Soapy nearest the pin for trade rumours.

McGovern has selected Carlton
Scrimshaw for Pick around 30
Jones has some suitors. Carlton open for right deal
Casboult trade option or even paid out
Setterfield a lock to Carlton (I have no idea how)
Shiel likely if returns to Vic
Lonie a NO
Spoken with Joe Atley. North other one
Pick One going nowhere.

Jones will be traded for a pick in the late 20s - 30s. This pick will be used to get Scrimshaw.

Shiel will stay at GWS and then Carlton will get him as a FA in 2019.

Carlton will get a PP and whatever that is will get the deal done for McGovern.

SOS will trade one of this year's second rounders and also next year's second rounder to secure Setterfield

Pick one to be used on Walsh.

No other club will be interested in trading for Casboult.

SOS will use the remaining second rounder for a young mid like Atley with 2-4 years in the system and a pick back in the 30s - 40s for father son insurance

PP will be awarded (pick 12)

Sam Walsh at 1.

12 for McGovern + 37

24 + 25 for Setterfield + 44

Jones + 65/73 for GC pick 38

Fasolo via FA

Lonie via FA

Silvagni (44) and Hickmott (65/73) will be drafted.
you realise that if you end up NTP its pretty much the ultimate bragging rights - we would have to organise some special dispensation for you to give us shit across our boards without getting carded

I'm not the bragging type!

I think that a lot of your supporters on here understand that I actually want you guys to succeed!

Others on here probably feel like I'm an outsider barging in and telling them about their club.

The reality is that as much as I care about Carlton, I view things unbiasedly because I'm a Geelong fan.

If posters were banned from posting on their own club's board then the quality of posts on Bigfooty would go up IMO.

Logic > emotion

Kane Cornes and Terry Wallace will sprout a load of shit on trade radio.

There will be a lot of hot air and filling of airwaves with a load of nothing.

In the end nothing will happen. Crows will be unrealistic to trade with so MM doesn't happen.
CFC goes with their picks to the draft while sprouting media commentary that is a difficult environment for teams at the bottom to attract talent.

#1 Walsh.

EDIT: AFL in their infinite wisdom, flutter about and decide not to allocate any PP's this year.

Doubt Silvagni goes that high. Haven't seen him mentioned to go top 50.

Like the outside perspective on the trades we'd make. Personally I hope 24 & 25 is used to get us a 1st round pick from a side that needs the points for a father son or academy player. That + pick + PP leaving us with 3 first round picks could make us seriously players during trade week. Would love to package up the PP (11-12 or 19-20) and next year's first (pick 1-5) for Setterfield (former pick 5) & Shiel (genuine A-grader)
