Momentum footy.

Wasn't high quality, very questionable moments contained within, but the boys held strong, was a relatively even performance. We maintained pressure, we maintained clearance work we maintained and despite a rally in the second half by the Crows, great to see that they also held nerves and escalated where required.

Steele and Jones BOG's in mid, Howard & Coff BOG in the back half, King always presented, but Kent & Butler in the forward half for "moments" footy where if they needed to step up, they stepped up, but all round, team effort and a win is a win, let alone against the Crows at AO.

Marshall needs to be the sole ruck. I don't mind Ryder but he takes away too much from Marshalls game and doesn't add enough to make it worth while.

Ryder's tap work is massively underrated. Was huge for us and we easily won the clearances, which arrested any momentum Adelaide got.

Steele just played his best game for the club 19 CP and 13 clearances! And a goal. Very much a fyfe like game.

Howard and coff good all game.

We won. I’ve never cared what the games looks like after a win. And I think the lack of training together is effecting every side.

Wasn’t pretty, but it’s still 4 points won interstate! 6th spot is ours.
Ryder elite ruck work in the centre bounces, justified selection.
Howard and Carlisle huge as key defenders.
Steele an absolute beast! Has to be our next captain!
One of Gresham’s better games this season.
Coffield, Paton and Clark very good in defense. Coffield especially, becoming quite the interceptor.

Umpiring was strange and plenty time for questions on elements of the performance but:

- The Saints have won just two games outside of Victoria in the last 36 months, and both of them were against Gold Coast by less than a kick.

- Adelaide’s first game at home in months with a home crowd

- Our first game in months with a real / bigger crowd

- we could have buckled again but came back strongly

- Good finishing

- first win at Adelaide Oval

- if we are getting Port in Adelaide best for that to be straight after we have played there.

Close to the best game Steele has played. 19 contested touches in a shortened game.

Jones was great in the first qtr but died off

Gresham stood up when we needed him

Howard was really good down back as was Coff

Just bloody good to get the win!




Plenty of negatives but I won't ruin the mood

We've got a pretty good side. Good win by 4 goals away considering we lost Battle very early. They were gifted 3 or 4 of their 7 goals also so it should have been by 5 or 6 goals in the end. They got the better end of the stick via the umps.

I think Ryder was excellent in the ruck in the last quarter with his tap work and Howard was awesome all game.

Steele and Howard future co-captains.

Max King is falling off by the end of games but its all you can expect from a first year kid that has played under 10 games.

You just need wins sometimes. Job done.

Did what we had to. Crows tried very hard. Umps more their way, but evened it up towards the end. Good win. Will stand us in good stead. Port will be a different game, but glad we've got the Adelaide Oval monkey off our back.
