To be fair to them, even though we missed the 8, we did bring things back from the brink reasonably well and with a few things going our way almost could've snuck into finals.

This year will be very different. If you look at our next 8 games, we'll start not just outsiders but rank outsiders in all but 1 of them (v North at AO, which we'd start favourites in). All results going as expected, that would leave us 2-10. And the most disturbing part is that the North game is the most likely to not go as expected. It's entirely possible we could be 1-11.

And no first round pick because we had to make up for Hinkley's development failures again

Any idea that Hinkley "saved the club" is now out the window. The list position (despite still being fine, IMO), is undoubtedly worse than it was in 2012 and instead of going in with a top 10 pick we can spend on a Chad Wingard, we're going in with nothing.

He's leaving the club worse than how he found it from a footballing perspective.

I would love to know how many players are on Ken side, I have a feeling watching these games that we have players that are not all too well with the situation. End of year we may see the true face of which side these players are on Carr or Hinkley

very very true, we still seeing the narrative by the media to blame the players like with the messaging during the game by the commentators that Ken called out JHF in front of the group yet who calls out ken

The players already look checked out, and who can blame them. They were told to book September Bali flights in January.

If this ancient Pies team ends up winning the flag, I'd expect the players will look at Houston with a medal around his neck and wish they'd also gotten out. For some, it'll be the final push to do it.

Ken is making sure he leaves the club in a much worse position than when he arrived. 2025 is far more damaging than 2012 ever was. 2026 is going to be miles away from the renewed hope of 2013.

That was the GWS game after Hinkley told the players: “Don’t leave everything to Chad and Robbie!” (Wingard and Gray were returning from injury.) Hinkley knows how to be negative / pessimistic without knowing he’s doing it.
The margin was 80+ points.
KT flew to see the game having spent two nights travelling from Shanghai to Canberra via Hong Kong.
That was 2016 and the writing was already on the signs on Port Road, so to speak.

In 2022 they should have made finals. They got back into the finals race then released their foot off the accelerator and lost 4 consecutive games late in the year.

This year is shaping up as disastrous and the only way to stop the bleeding will be to move Ken on.
