Certified Legendary Thread Sack Hinkley 13 - Another Crack At This (Stepping down end of 2025)

In 2022 they should have made finals. They got back into the finals race then released their foot off the accelerator and lost 4 consecutive games late in the year.

This year is shaping up as disastrous and the only way to stop the bleeding will be to move Ken on.
More like they got back into the season and shat the bed when the pressure was applied.

And no first round pick because we had to make up for Hinkley's development failures again

Any idea that Hinkley "saved the club" is now out the window. The list position (despite still being fine, IMO), is undoubtedly worse than it was in 2012 and instead of going in with a top 10 pick we can spend on a Chad Wingard, we're going in with nothing.

He's leaving the club worse than how he found it from a footballing perspective.

Respectfully, this current list shits on the 2013 list.

In 2013 they had some great up and coming young talent (Boak, Wines, Gray, Wingard, Ebert, Hartlett) and some handy KPPs (Westhoff, Schulz, Trengove and Carlile). But it was also supplemented with the likes of Lewis Stevenson, Campbell Heath, Cam Hitchcock, Sam Colquhoun etc.

Pound for pound this current team is miles better on paper. But the coach is not nearly getting as much out of them as what he was getting out of that 2013 group.

Hey I'm sure I'm not welcome, but I'm here to post on Big Footy & Eat Fruit Tingles..
& Tonight I'm all out of Fruit Tingles.

What Gerard Weakling said tonight was so ferkin off!

He blamed the players in 2023 saying they were Gassed when they got to September & there was nothing the coach could do.

A year later it's, The Coach performed a miracle with what he was given.

This year (and quite possibly the most bizarre of the constructs) the CLUB has taken away Kenny's Super Power,
Man Management..& I don't know?..Paternal Instincts?? 😬

I'm Sorry but which of his premiership lists in the last 13 Years HAS been due to his coaching?
Or have they constantly provided Carpenter Ken with faulty Tools...FOREVER?!

Hinkley often talks about "whole of club"

Then Poindexter wants to pick & choose what "parts of club"...and When.

That's something I'm fairly certain he hasn't afforded too many failed coaches before.

Just Bizarre Scenes.

But you know that already I guess. 💁

It shits me to tears when people cite Hinkley as some sort of post-2012 saviour. That this year - not more than a decade of incompetence - is what proves them wrong. The propaganda wheel keeps turning in fascist regimes, I guess.

Hinkley and Koch are the beneficiaries of one of the most thorough on- and off-field rebuilds in AFL history. The transformation of our club was not engineered by them, but by those who came before, beside and around them.

The man who almost didn’t take the job has become, in Koch's official club mythology, the unshakeable foundation. Someone above criticism, beyond challenge and immune to scrutiny. Any voice that dares suggest otherwise, be it a premiership captain, a journalist or a lifelong member, is cast as disloyal, ungrateful, or uninformed.

Hinkley is what happens when stability becomes stagnation. When the fear of “going back to 2012” becomes a shield against progress. When loyalty turns into inertia. When credit is taken by those who showed up late and stayed too long.

I remember the truth. I want my club back. Sack Hinkley.

Actually, I would like to retract a previous statement.
There will be no closure to this thread series.
It'll merely continue in another guise.

If (and when) Stinkers conducts a few shoot interviews instead of works post coaching days, the more he talks, the more you guys post.

As I'm seeing from your posts, you guys hold and maintain long memories like they're steel traps and you're already waiting with all manner of responses.

In 2014 AND 2015, Gerard predicted that Port would win the flag.

In 2020, he "seeded" them among the top three to win.

In 2021, Port was predicted to win by Damien Barrett, Mitch Cleary, Sarah Black, Riley Beveridge, Nathan Schmook and Callum Twomey aka nearly the entirety of the AFL.com team.

It is ludicrous to propagate the idea that these Port teams never had a chance.

Gerard's OWN PREDICTIONS would render this ludicrous.

Gerard was almost crying after Hinkley's ridiculous display at the mid-week press conference after the Collingwood loss.

He wanted to police the reporters and demand they only ask "appropriate" questions of Hinkley.

Gerard is such a cult member he would throw his own colleagues under the bus to appease his bald idol.

Clearly as an outsider, I'm not privy to the inner circles/factions and, thus, couldn't grasp Kochie's destruction of your once proud club.

But, by reading this thread in its entirety, it seems like I've been inducted/welcomed vicariously into the anti-establishment fold who's constantly left reeling by dumb decisions after dumb decisions.

The contract extension's been spoken about ad nauseum but what about his go to toys?

Burgoyne's a ripper but, when I've watched your games, I barely see Mead.

When you guys undertake a mass player exchange signing at 2023's end to rival Essendon's albeit a much taller on average haul to then basically write off 2025 because of this succession plan and the player exchange is, on average, as skillful as Essendon's haul, then, for me, it seems like one big waste. (Sweet and Duursma the only hits for me FWIW.)

There is a unanimity here overpopulating the closed doors at your club yet there's no budging it seems.

Hypothetically, if there were at least 5 games of 100+ losses for the Pear, Kochie probably still backs his acolyte.

Apologies for this waffle but thoughts (potentially deviated from the track a lot) kept on falling out and will continue to do so.

Kens stink will continue for years. Carr has no hope.

And, RossFC.

Is this what it's like when Vince Russo took over WCW writing?

Kochie playing the role of Russo and, presumably, Sulk Stinkley.
Yep, Ken Hinkley in the Hulk Hogan role, refusing to leave and do the right thing by putting Josh over. Using his creative control card “That doesn’t work for me brother”

Nothing that a few generations of fumigating the joint of asbestos (admin, coaches, coterie members and volunteers) can't fix.

Presumably in the business of burying the younger talent in favour of hopeless jobbers too.

Righto champ

Kornes, Caro and Brogan now all for Hinkley to walk

As if all of a sudden they realise Donuts isn’t up to it. And as if they’re continuous support hasn’t helped keep him there for 13 years
Because they know that as of the end of the year Hinkleys leaks aren't worth shit.

Time to try and butter up Carr.
