Admittedly I don't see the potential others do in Lord but must say he's been vital for our structure since coming in.

3 goals against Saints and an opportunistic goal against Hawks. But the thing I've liked about him in the 2 games is that he isn't competing, and in the process spoiling, Georgiades.

At the same time, he's also competing in the 1v1s and bringing it to ground for our small forwards

The only thing that's stopping me from buying in is that I'd like to see him launch at the ball in 1v1 with confidence. Try to be more commanding.
He can definitely do it more, but I liked that 5-10 minute patch he had in the third quarter when Hawthorn were gaining momentum. Snapped that goal and then led really hard at two other balls taking them on his chest. He should have finished off at least one and probably both of the resulting shots on goal.

The collect and handball to Mead, who ran into the open goal, was clean. Watched him closely on the weekend, especially in the second and last quarter, as was sitting right behind the northern goals. Thought he played well. He was on barrass who is a massive unit and didn't lose any contests, looking threatening every time he was near it. Makes life much easier for all the other forwards

There was a lot to like in Ollie's game and it was definitely a step up from last week.

Hinkley talked him up in the press conference, so the coaching group knows what he can bring.

Fitness is his biggest issue I think. He gets to this stage every quarter where he looks like he weighs 300kg. Defenders with attacking flair will brutalise him at the moment. Having said that, doing a lot of the right things.

He might get a nick blakey or joel hamiling this week

He could well kick 3 this week

As others have stated, Ollie at pace on the lead with a cracking handpassing off to Mead for the goal was a great play but I also like him on the bottom of the melee. He was down there for a while but he was still mouthing off and didn't take a backward step even though he was on the turf. He may have had a touch of the crazy eyes, I dunno.

Great stuff.

For me, that handball was play of the day, although there were a fair few others to compete against.

He needs to be in for structural reasons, but he's just a tall athlete not an AFL quality footballer. The sooner he's replaced by a genuine KPF with height the better.
Still too early to tell. He's only 23, and as we know, key position players take longer to develop. He's also had a number of injury concerns that have affected his ability to develop over the past 2 seasons.

Is he going to be the next Tony Lockett? No, but he has enough raw talent to become a good solid player for us.

Blakey would run him off his feet.

But he could still kick 3 the other way.

Blakey running free would do more damage then the 3 Lord may kick though - I don't like that matchup.

That was almost the play of the day and his celebration as soon as it hit meads hands.

Love his aggression.. progressing nicely
