Hope like heck he stays in the side , 20 games under the belt and tb will be a qty player
Yeah he’s the type of kid who I’m happy to “carry” in the best 22 he’s got the skills just needs the experience now

Lets face it we wont be winning a premiership in 24'

Players like Gibcus , Brown , Trezise , Banks , Young need to be given games and developed as a unit coming through

You sure TI? I’m not convinced yet
Yze will have Brown Out for Vlas I reckon.

I got no idea if he's going to be a gun. Brown, Sonsie, Clarke, Banks, all have lots of potential, does it get them a game with new coach?

Banks injured I think.

Looks like Yze is playing the new kids in the fwd line. Green for Graham?

I'm not convinced just yet. Hopefully he and all the other youth drafted from the last 3-4 years can start dominating at VFL level because so far none have. Who was the last draftee we've had that smashed the door down in the reserves? Jack Ross?

least of our problems. Just like the Aussie selectors backed in Cam Green, our MC need to do the same and realize the talent. A pity he didn't get that extra dozen games last year.
Would of played more if he didn’t break his arm in the pre season
Think he easily would of probably played 15ish games

he basically showed a lot in his first game back, but mini just kept playing the old heroes.
Team wasn’t travelling overly terribly at that point wasn’t later until we started dropping games again so can’t really hold it against him

It wasn't really showing improvement either, and there were a few players underperforming, even though we were doing ok in the W/L column.

Could have easily got a couple kids in a lot earler last year.

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t imo
Easy to say in hindsight it’s not like he wasn’t rotating younger players through either Clarke, Mansell, Rioli Jr, Cumbo and Banks all came in relatively early under Mini

It was only after the season was absolutely cooked did he go wholesale youth and that’s fair enough

IMO he had a chance to make change, and he didn't take it.

Kmac the glaring example IMO, well below his best, not making us better as a team, so his place would've been better served getting games into a kid (which kid is up for debate). But he played every week up until the last game.

We were gone once Lynch was injured and by round 5 Dimma was planning his grand exit bc he couldn't cook the snag another way. He knew our list was old and tired and went for a list full of highly talented kids. Even when he left there were still around a dozen games left and then mini refused to make changes and we really struggled against top sides and fell in against some weaker ones.

I hope by the end of 2025 he's played 30 games minimum. By then should have a pretty good idea if his 1st round selection was warranted. I'm hoping if it's line ball for the selectors between picking Grimes or Brown they look to the future every time and don't drop him on the back of 1 or 2 average games. Should be selected round 1 even if as sub. Need to play him minimum in 5 game blocks even if he's stinking it up occasionally. If he really is 194cm try him as a 3rd kpf against an easy kill, never know could unearth something different??

Looked good against Port and was always in the best in magoos, mini the moron actually slit his own throat with selections. He hitched his wagon to the old guard of Grimes, Pickett, McIntosh, Graham and Cotchin week in week out. They were so poor so often I'm positive that what Banks, Brown and Trezise showed against Port would've been replicated in the wins we had and getting more games into them and Sonsie, Bauer would've looked better for him as we would've had same result but he could've hung his hat on saying he got games into the kids and developed the future.

Time to pump games into all of the 2021 Draft and hopefully unearth 2 A graders and 2 B graders that play 200+ games together and are the nucleus of our next flag.

Definitely the one you want to carry, because he has pace and great foot skills, 2 areas we need to improve in. He’s going to be your cream on the top type, the guy that breaks the lines and sets up plays from the back half. But you need experience at the level, to be able to do it on a regular basis. 30 plus games under his belt, he’ll be an attacking weapon for us off hb/wing.

I’ve got no concerns with his hardness at this early stage, I remember Houli and Short taking some short steps early in their careers, and we know what important players they’ve been through our Premiership campaigns.

Bloody Matt Clarke burning a 1st rounder on a HBF. The easiest position in footy to play you can pluck them from rookie, mid season drafts. Might as well play him all year but stick him on the wing instead. Banks was completely ineffective and Broad will be back.
Give the kid a break, played his 2nd career game in a back line that was undermanned against a strong Port forward line, what did you expect from him to be the second coming of Rance?

Carlton sent pick 8 out for Saad. Port used about pick 14 on Sinn? Whitfield was pick 1. Crows got Michalanney at pick 17. Hayden Young Freo took at pick 7. Pies took Quaynor at 14. Vlastuin at pick 9. Ed Richards pick 16. Perryman pick 14. Ryan Burton pick 19. Will Powell pick 19. Andrew McGrath pick 1. Dan Rioli pick 15. Brodie Smith pick 14. Wanganeen-Milera pick 11. Shannon Hurn pick 13. Lachie Ash pick 4. Daniel Rich pick 7. Wayne Milera pick 11. Liam Duggan pick 11. Jordan Clarke pick 16...

We could go on and on and on. There are a lot of quality medium defenders taken inn the first round of the draft. No idea what you are on about.

Learn to read. I wrote play him all year but see if he can play wing. Any kid less than Andrew Mcleod ability who plays HBF should never be taken in top 30. You can jag hbf from anywhere just like Trezise. We've got a dozen hbf and Broad and Young coming back.
