A fair bit endeavor getting to all those 50 50 contests and winning them. Lynch was pretty good getting up the ground providing an outlet. McIntosh shadowing Cripps. Taranto good. And about a dozen or so young zesty blokes kept charging in and pushing the ball forward.

How good was our forward line after half time. Lynch was just starting, Bauer and Armstrong just competed and brough the ball to ground, but Lalor, Campbell, Mansell, Ross early and Green were class at ground level, competed super hard at ground level and all have a bit of swagger.

I was so looking forward to the season just for those little signs and new excitement and even last night at the game I said to my mates we are having a real crack here, let’s not stress about the scores who cares?
But what I was hoping and expecting to see in 12 months happening an hour later?
