Position 2026 Forwards

Flanders has the last bye, easy swap then if needed. Surely we're trying to get the rookies off field, especially forward?
currently have 1 rookie who was to go in watkins and another looking like they wont make much more $ in lombard, the rest need time to make the cash. those 2 rookies arent getting me anywhere with the cash theyve made atm anyway so if you think you can get ahead, and dont rate flanders i think it could be a seriously good move to get ahead of 90% of the comp

Okay some context

I'm deep in that position due to some luck and not trusting the fwd rookies at the start of the year.

Flanders is F5 right now the thing is though, I could upgrade him to trac in the next few weeks then upgrade a rookie after that.

In the end though is that any different to going sideways on Flanders to say Rankine soonish while he's around similar price, then upgrading the rookie to Trac?

Need to way up if it's worth the risk of wasting a trade.

Contemplating Rachele vs Rankine - which is tricky as you'd think they will be sharing CBAs as the attacking mid (and not in there at the same time).

Rachele has the form line and was training as a mid. Rankine the scoring history.

You'd think Rachele's CBAs come back a bit with Rankine getting more - but unlikely Rankine gets to the level he had last year (and the coach had to pull him back anyway).

I'm leaning Rachele but keen to know how others are viewing it.

(I cannot afford fwds above $450k and need to find value with the number of injury trades happening.)

I've had Rachele from the start and am considering bringing Rankine in as well but want to see how he goes over the next Rd or 2.....last week was an improvement.....will it continue.......
And how will the news out of Adelaide today affect the team this weekend?

I wanted to keep dev Rob this week to loop with forwards but I feel I need to start upgrading the weakest like week.

I wouldn’t have either/or scenarios built around an assumption Flanders needs to be traded just yet.

Just plan around getting Trac from upgrading rookies or trading out injured players I reckon.

Is it just me or are forwards a sheet show this year?

Sheez and Trac look to be the only must haves.

Then there are the Kosi types and then it’s pot luck.

On one hand it is good as the FWD lines won’t be cookie cutter this year, but this looks to be the most difficult line to fill this year

I think Touk is a must have but the issue is that almost ALL the good forwards share the R12 bye

Yeah, that's why I'm not stressed about grabbing anyone outside of Sheez, Trac, Kozzy and Flanders (by default) yet.

Would rather see if an F5/6 separate themselves from the pack - if not, will just wait for someone to drop later. For now, your Touk/JHF/Rachele/JMac etc types aren't getting out of range.

The problem I'm having is that the forward rookies are so much worse than everywhere else on the ground (for me at least...) so I want to get them off. Like the gap between Pou and JHF is 40pts minimum a week

After trades this week, this is mine - think those with Cook have an advantage as yeah, you really don't want to be fielding Pou lol (as I was reminded last week)

I don't expect anyone else to come into contention to be honest, so I think it's important to get these pot luck players at the right time so you get their good scores to balance out the bad ones.

Sydney have a great run from now until their bye for McInerney/Warner. They also have a great finish to the year.

Gold Coast have a good 4 games between rounds 8-11 so if I'm getting Miller it's before then. Otherwise it's a wait and see depending on the role.

Rachele/Rankine also dependent on roles but if they are stuck forward could score rounds 8-10 against some poor teams, then they get a couple of patches against bad sides later on. They play Port and Richmond twice from now onwards plus still have games against West Coast and Essendon to come.

Watson could be good as a late option with 5 bottom sides after the byes, including round 24 against West Coast if you make it to/care about the finals.

In saying all that the only one I'm going for as an upgrade is McInerney (this round) so I'll field Cook/Marshall for a while. Petracca I'll get when I can afford and my last team upgrade will be F6 in whoever looks best. This is also all dependent on the theory that they'll get more looks against bad sides when it doesn't always play out like that.

JHF and Rankine look great value, but their form needs lifting to convince me to pick them.

I'd keep an eye on Curtis tbh.

First CBA's of the season against Carlton at 10%.

Up to 15% against Brisbane and 17% against Richmond.

He mentioned in a post game interview Clarko has had him study vision of Dusty working forward from center bounces for the last month.

I also think Clarko would be looking at Bailey at (30% CBA's) and Watson (20% CBA's) as a way of getting the ball in a damaging forwards hands more.

I think Watson is a sustainable 90.
He or one of the Sydney boys is coming in for me this week, with the intent of never having to see a rookie score from Phillipou or Lombard again.

Can McInerney continue to score goals?
Last game was the most "normal" game for Warner so far (14k, 4m), will he keep it up?

Happy to wait on Trac due to the bye and potential re-injure, and Pickett over-priced, albeit with 2 prime games in the next 3.

🤔
