Any elite midfielders on the horizon or are we still pretending we drafted well and should have beaten Carlton… lol bring on the “your bullying the new recruits” logic
baby crying GIF

It’s a real shame about Elwood and the others, as well as the Sandy pick but if there are others on the table that we think are better prospects it would be negligent as a club not to take them.
We can never ever gift list spots ever again.

I'm surprised at the outcome but been saying this all along. No point taking those guys on principle if we can get better elsewhere.

This 100%.
You take the best you can get, and if that’s not our NGAs so be it.

Here's out Out Of Contract (OOC) players, 19 in total at this stage (I can't confirm Jack Carroll, but I assume he's been given 1-2 years).

HOWARD and CORDY: Given the number of defenders we've taken, especially tall defenders, you'd think Dougal and Zaine would be nervous. (I'm assuming Eamonn Armstrong will play defence, given he's written up as a half back in the Irish Press). I would think Cordy will be first out, and Dougal might find himself getting 1 year deals every season until another club offers him more security.

CROUCH and JONES: Crouch seems a likely to be cut at the end of the year, unless his knee makes a miraculous recovery. While Zak was a little lucky to get another year, considering his extensive injury issues.

HEATH and KEELER: I love them both, and I really hope they make it. But drafting Dodson (Heath) and Tauru/Barrat (Keeler) just made them a little more disposable. We can't be carrying two project ruckmen, and 4-5 developing forwards. I'm really hoping both debut this year and start showing AFL qualities.

STOCKER, HALL and BYRNES: Make or break year for both of them I feel. Byrnes needs to show much more consistency. I think Stocker's actually been very good and I'm surprised he's only getting 1 year deals. Hall I can't really comment. Missed a few through injury and didn't really get midfield minutes at Sandy, which I found odd. 2025 will be interesting for him

HASTIE, SCHOENMAKER and McLENNAN: Pressure's on! We just brough in Tauru, Barrat, Travaglia, Armstrong and still have a developing O'Connell, who's getting big wraps. None of these guys are comfortable now. Probably Schoenmaker the most confortable of the lot, as his brilliant kicking elevates him from the pack.

CLARK: I rate Clark. His ability to stand up in tackles and still get a clean disposal away is rare. He was a pretty good HBF in his early years also, so has versatility. The hardest player to predict where he'll be this time next year.

O'CONNELL: I love reading that this guy is pushing Wilson in the running this pre-season, and is impressing track watchers. Was it Goddard saying he's been the most impressive halfway through last season? Raw, but showing plenty it seems.

WANGANEEN-MILERA, OWENS, WINDHAGER, GARCIA: Just give them what they want to stay. Can't afford to lose these guys, given they're the ones driving standards at the club. Seriously impressive guys that you build a successful club around. Buy the land around RSEA and build them mansions. Do what it takes to keep them at the club.

WEBSTER: Much like Membrey, you don't want to see it end, but the end is nigh. I'm hoping Jimmy isn't needed as much this coming season, as the likes of McLennan, Stocker, Hastie, or even Windhager push him out. But I'll always love him for his utterly gratuitous hit on Simpkin in a pre-season game. It made me feel like I was in the 90's again.

OUT: Crouch (retired), Cordy (delisted), Jones (retired), Webster (retired), Howard (traded)
IN: Free Agent (LDU?), F1 pick, F3 pick, Mid-Season pick (Crouch placed on LTI), 1 DFA or PSP.

Our Best 23 2026 based back half would be very low on experience with those proposed delistings.

It would potentially be:

Barrett, Wilkie, Travaglia
Sinclair, Tauru, Wanganeen-Milera

And our depth for KPD would be Caminiti and Keeler whom are both forwards.

I think we would likely give Howard a 1 year extension.

I signed up to be a member when I was like 10, I don't have access to dogfart3438@hotmail.com anymore so it will take a phone call to resolve. And phone calls are really more of a boomer / gen x thing.
My first saints email was skunkfart69@gmail.com signed up as an interstate member about 10 years ago with mums credit card, she wasn’t to happy about it

Just on Clark, he is who he is at this age. If he is still consistently getting a game next year with his consistently 70% TOG, it means that after three seasons under Lyon, Ross obviously doesn't see his TOG as a problem.

I do know we played a lot better with him in the side last year once he came back.
