North's membership income on those 51084 was 7 million in 2023. Take a random example to compare Freos was 3 times as much at 21 million despite have only 20% more members.

Yet membership numbers are frequently quoted by clubs and in 2023 North Melbourne had the most financial members it has ever had in it's entire 100+ year history - whatever the income from it was, compared to other clubs. These other who can often push their membership prices up depending on supply and demand considerations. (crowds, availability of seats etc.)

The real metric here is debt free. And North Melbourne is debt free.

Success, or lack of it, on the field is NOT a metric in deciding whether or not a club should relocate, merge or exit the competition.

North Melbourne won't be going anywhere, as much as some people wish for it to happen. Get ready for a 20th side at some point in the future.

Yes but Collingwood, Essendon and Richmond are big clubs that generate big emotions from those that love and hate them… North on the other hand besides a few passionate fans no one really cares about them..

Turfing out a club in this era would be a terrible look for the code which is why its never happening. Poor performance is simply not a metric that can be used. You want us gone add promotion/relegation and we will get whats coming, if not we are free to be crap for as long as it takes.

Some clubs will hand out kid's memberships for free when you buy an adult one, they'll even suggest giving ti to other families if you don't have kids. It's the new Hawks pet membership scam.

I doubt anyone actually goes but you'd pick a club with a massive debt over one that managed to clear theirs, surely?

If we sell a couple more scarves for the year I reckon we can cover our debt servicing costs.
