Season 2022

It would be great in 2023 this forum actually spoke about footy and the good and bad stories of local community sport. Over the years it has become dominated by big footy bots that write the same half truths week after week. Whilst we all have opinions on the structure of the league and bits they have got right and wrong surely we can drill down on the actual footy and talk about Woori’s fantastic backline, the good young kids coming through or Wandins vfl standard midfield.
I do find it interesting that there are contributors on this page that never provide any detail to any game that has been played and I’d question weather they have ever been to an oe game! Looks like change is on the way at HQ so a change of direction on here would great too imo

I think the heat just got too hot in the kitchen, bye bye.
Let’s hope the incoming can make this league what it should be.
Good competitive community football and netball.
I am sure a few people will be happy and saying don’t let the door hit you on the way out

100% They will send out a token fixture with Broadford and Yea on it then remove it a week before the season and add 6 byes.
Good luck to Yea this season. I don’t see the point in being pessimistic at this stage.
I was involved at Powelltown in 2007 when we were coming out of recession. Very hard to recruit players when they might take a phone call then hear on the grapevine we didn’t even have a team. It’s a shame to see clubs go under and especially at the moment it’s in every club’s best interests for Yea to survive. Really great people up there and a good road trip.

Yes they are but watch this space….with Aaron leaving (all their promises may now not be granted) they may still backflip and stay in the SFNL. After all, grass isn’t always greener.

When was it announced Aaron was leaving and is he heading back to EFNL,interesting that there is a job there at the top with Troy Swainston leaving

Wont be going back to the EFNL.

Can't work in senior footy and coach a senior side. If he stays in footy it will need to be within a junior comp.

Yea advertising for a senior coach, surely that isn’t a good sign re having playing numbers.
Looks like division 2 being a 5 team competition, just make it a final 5 and everyone gets to play finals

Given the league told competing clubs that Yea had a coach a month or two ago and all things were looking good.

Not sure what they do at HQ and how in touch they are with clubs. Do they actually get involved in club finances and salary cap?

ChristianBoy guessing someone wasn’t being clear and transparent.
Check Yea FB page it has gone up 3 hours ago.
Great club Yea but if they haven’t appointed a coach and it’s mid -October, can see them recruiting 40+ players to have both senior and reserve teams.

They don’t get up, division 2 is 5 teams which is an absolute joke

Head in sand. Along with clubs with financial problems and rorting of salary cap. Easier to ignore.

ChristianBoy whicj clubs have financial problems and are rorting the salary cap?

Seems like only 5 team division 2 with Hallam being accepted into division 1 and being told won’t need to travel

What a farce

If it's accurate that AFLOE are promising clubs that they won't have to make certain road trips you'd have to be extremely worried about the integrity of the league. Does it mean clubs like Alexandra or Broadford can't be promoted, even if they win the div2 flag? Does it mean Hallam can't get relegated even if they finish dead last? Even at a cursory glance this seems well and truly off. You just hope the rumours aren't accurate because you can't run a multiple division league with promotion and relegation if certain clubs aren't allowed to play certain other clubs.

Shows the thought process of the League and who is running the show. The junior netball trials and pathways program invites have been sent out. The girls can go try out but of course its being held at Narre Warren. How about somewhere central to give all the girls chance.

Lets give Narre another leg up shall we.

It was explained to me by a staff member (and I think you can actually see it in the by laws). The league is actually setup as 2 different competitions. Prem / Div 1 with Div 2 as it's own stand alone comp. Promotion and relegation takes place between the top 2 divisions. Any movement of teams to / from D2 is done by application and assessed on it's merits.

8.0 PROMOTION AND RELEGATION IN THE SENIOR FOOTBALL DIVISIONS
8.1 The bottom team at the end of the home & away season in Premier Division shall be relegated to Division One (1).

8.2 The Premier club of Division One (1) shall be promoted to Premier Division.
8.2.1 The Board may, at its sole discretion and under special circumstances, consider a submission in writing from the Premiers of Division one (1) to remain in their current Division. This application must be submitted to Outer East Football Netball no later than twenty-one (21) days following the Division one (1) Grand Final.
8.2.2 In the event of the Board approving a club’s submission to remain in Division one (1), the Board may seek expressions of interest from other clubs in that Division to be promoted.
8.2.3 In the event of no clubs being promoted to a division, the composition of the League divisions will then be structured at the sole discretion of the Board.

8.3 If, at the beginning of a season the Premier Division competition has an odd number of teams, or the number of football teams is not ten (10), the Board shall decide the relegation & promotion structure from each division prior to Round 2 of that season.

8.4 Promotion from Division Two (2) to Division One (1), will be by application or invitation only, subject to Board approval and assessment.
8.4.1 Any Division two (2) club seeking promotion to Division one (1), must do so in writing within twenty-one (21) days following the Division two (2) Grand Final.
