Rockbank/Western Rams will end up going to WRFL

Diggers will go join Rupo and Sunbury Kangaroos in EDFL

Wallan definitely being spoken to by NFNL to re-join

If that happens RDFL down to 6 teams

I'll do up a map with those clubs and some others for comparison.

So basically if the two KDFL teams enter it's 14 but if not it's still fine at 12, home and away 22 rounds.

With East Sunbury or Thornton Eildon it would still be 12.

Division 2 is a one team competition that could utilise the RDFL's thirds.
They had the Lions, Kangaroos and other in it that could be useful for a combined Sunbury side.

Worked well for Broadford
driving hours to get your pants pulled down by 200 points lol

There netball was very competitive and they fielded three football sides which is more than most of the Div 2 sides. Doubt they over spent like most as well.

Why no Kinglake?

Football and netball called off for Sept 4th. Seven day training block before any game can proceed.

Tony Mitchell, one of the very good administrators that we have got, was a guest on The Local Footy Show last night. They will continue to work towards a Grand Final until it can't be managed but they are not seemingly moving past an Oct 9 date for it to be played at the latest...despite having Kilsyth, Healesville and Beaconsfield grounds available as non-cricket grounds.

The interesting comment he made is that 2 clubs were possibly seeking to drop down a division from Premier to Div 1, which I assume is this years' news and not from last year. From ladder positions this might be Wandin and Doveton however, naturally, no names were mentioned. Doveton have also applied to join the MPNFL so it might be Upwey instead unless Doveton are checking all options. Looks like nobody wants to be in Premier with Beaconsfield, Cranbourne and Narre also looking at the exit.

It has prompted club officials to explore a move to the Southern league, at a time when fellow AFL Outer East clubs Cranbourne, Narre Warren and Beaconsfield have expressed interest in linking with the Mornington Peninsula Nepean league.

The Doves also lodged their interest in joining the MPNFL, but a switch to Southern is their preferred option.

They see themselves more as a metropolitan than country club, and believe their long-term future would be more secure in the SFNL, helping to retain and recruit players.

Doveton has held talks with Southern officials and alerted AFL Outer East to its thinking.

If the Doves do make the move they would more than likely start in Division 2, going up against the likes of Springvale Districts, Hampton Park, Keysborough, Caulfield and East Brighton.

Smart from Doveton. Not a country club.

Would be good to see both Doveton's in the same league.

I reckon Gold Standard Tony and his band of puppets have bigger problems on their hands than worrying about a Mickey Mouse Grand Final that is absolutely no chance of occurring. Maybe they need to attempt to mop up the mess they’ve made of a once great footy league, because at the moment it resembles a car accident.

I wonder how they sell it to the clubs when it all turns to s**t. They've ruined the fabric of the YVMDFL now they are going to have to rectify the mistake.

Also call this year off let the clubs start planning for next year.

If all 4 teams leave, and sounds like they want to how will the head honchos at AFL Outer East structure up the competition?

If these 4 leave, will Pakenham leave as well from Premier division.

Let's hope we can get the YVMDFL back to the great country community football league it was.

Mpnfl clubs voted last Monday about accepting new clubs. There needed to be 75% approval which was not the case. Looks like Narre Cranbourne and Beaconsfield are staying where they are

So Doveton get to the SFNL, the other 3 stay..

Worst possible result..

8 Teams in the premier division ??

Their aim is 5 divs of 10.
That would get them to 48

Youd have to think the EFL would fall over themselves to get the Beaconsfield facilities under their banner..

Forrest Hill to coldstream is 28 kms.... Scoresby to Beaconsfield is the same..

Narre from the outside looking in seem to have been the most content in the Outer East so maybe they where just testing the waters as suggested.

Pretty sure to get the Berwick vote done the EFL conceded that no teams could be added into the top 2 (maybe 3 divisions) until after 2023.. Beaconsfield and Narre would both have been top 4 Div 1 EFL this year at a minimum. The EFl Definitely want 50 clubs, but maybe improving the level at the bottom end is the short term goal.
