Again I’m not sure Harves as the forward coach is working.
We don’t hold the ball in. Can’t kick straight. Have awful leading patterns.
It was shocking last year and hasn't changed. If it was at all possible to get another forward coach in mid-season I would honestly do it.

Question: Are we better without Max King?

Last year our start was electric without him, today, the game opens up without him .
Obviously today, GWS went to sleep, but the smaller forward line and only Skunk and Hammer as targets made us look more dynamic.
Max is a disappointment so far.

The Max King dilemma is real, before he was hurt he looked completely out of sorts in front of goal.
What does the club do?

Hard to tell, can argue both ways. He needs to lift, he does good work up the ground we need a big target

Play Garcia next week. Promising against the number 1 in form team, could have snatched it.

Play Garcia midfield, Steele, Windhager, Sinclair, Ross and Pou/Owens. That mix should get us clearances similar or better than this week. That's a great contested/Silky group.

Another rollercoaster ride combined with a ghost train.

Great comeback in the last 10 minutes to nearly pinch a win, a pity we couldn't play like that earlier but at least it shows we can run it out.

A few of our experienced players like Steele, Hill and Marshall stood up, NWM and Owens were pretty good too and Garcia made an impact.

Once again there were too many passengers though with too much left to too few, hopefully King' is OK but we looked better without him.

Garcia with 11 disposals (7 contested) and 6 tackles from 38% game time is wild. Put himself at the head of the pack of the newbies, and that includes Pou.

Shout out to Ro with a set of stats that we may not ever see again. 28 disposals (18 contested), 7 marks, 16 clearances (9 centre clearances), 10 inside 50s and 25 hitouts. Anyone still think we need a true tap ruckman and pining for Trent Knobel with his 36 hitouts and 0 disposals?

Same old story unfortunately.
Slow start and poor skills cant be hidden by a late resurgence with the oppo gassed and injury riddled.
Really frustrating performance and seems to be the trend for the season.
Middle of the road it seems.
Steele played his guts out and Garcia looks a gem.
See you all again in...5 days??? gagf AFL

Three losses by a combined 13 points. Will dictate our ladder position.

Garcia should be given a month of footy locked in the team. Played with as much intensity and aggression as anyone in the team.

Phillipou needs a run in the VFL once we get numbers back. Needs to develop some composure and some running patterns.

Best game Hill has played for the Saints.

Battle thrown into the midfield while Owens stays forward. Owens will not be in midfield at any time this year.

Bring back 2022 & 2023 Sinclair please.

Steele immense.

No we are not without him it’s all an illusion - he’s a very good player

Exactly, every one of those clearances is as good as a tap to advantage. He would have huge numbers in hitouts if he didn't have so many clearances.
