Dixon is their "oh no I'm in trouble better kick the ball away from defense and hope someone makes a contest" option. He is what keep the ball in Port's hand when the opposition lock them down and usually results in the ball being a kick further away from their last line of defense. It's a big percentage play.
It works great when the ball is a kick from the forward fifty to have a big forward who believes every ball is intended for him but it can be problematic closer to goal.

Going early but Pies still look s**t
Long may it continue!
Pies are fumbling and missing handballs by a fair margin. If they lose this, they won't make the finals. They will struggle if they win. Lose this and it will be interesting to see how they play through the rest of the year.
Very slow. Forward line not functioning.
Midfield struggling and letting them get to the outside.

6 goal first quarter, this is what happens when you try to have a shootout with Port.
Their mids are built for a shoot out. Speed, strength and penetrating kicks.
Not gonna lie, 2nd half of the quarter looked like Pies from last year. Not sure Port's defense can stop that for 3 quarters.
They looked great against the fumbly cones though.

They won't be in the eight. The question is how far they fall. They will have large blocks of game at the MCG which should soften the blow.

Harsh on us, we had balance of play for most of both games.
If this balance holds up in the 2nd half, Port will lose by 10 goals.
Port were up by 5 goals, they've choked it up just like we did in the final 5 mins last 2 weeks
Gee a few posts here have not aged well to half time.
I didn't see the comeback. Prior to that the Pies look horrible. Like a 13th-16th placed side.
Obviously they woke up.
Should make for a fun second half. I still want the Pies to lose for the draft pick. It is making the game more interesting for a nuetral.

Ideally someone has a F/S or academy pick and they are happy to trade out of the top ten for points.
Is port now our best chance of a top 10 pick??
Nah - sadly they will rarely be beaten at home this year. I expect them to win 15-16 games.
