Yep, top 4 is gonna be seriously difficult to get into this year. We still plenty of time left, but can't afford to drop too many games for the rest of the season.

Long, long, long way to go in the marathon. Top 4 still entirely possible. Melb were 4th last year, with 16 wins and therefore 7 losses. Notably, 5th team in Carlton had 13.5 wins. We are hardly playing elimination finals each week yet. It is also very helpful that a pretender like Geelong is going to finish top 4. How they won yesterday is not going to stand up against good teams in big finals for 3 or 4 games in sept - gave up 66 inside 50’s and Carlton’s bad kicking saved them, only had 45 themselves, were gifted a free ride by the umpires and still only fell over the line. We need to improve yes, but plenty of time. Beat the blues and we will make the top 4.
