Someone did a count.

Home states get the advantage everywhere, just about all the time.

But the advantage for Adelaide vs Collingwood in Adelaide isn’t as great as Collingwood get vs Adelaide at the G for example.
The stats aren't that easy to work with but just looking at home v away over the last few years:

2023
Adelaide Home: 108.90% - Adelaide Away: 76.60%
Carlton Home: 111.73% - Carlton Away: 108.70%
Collingwood Home: 122.22% - Collingwood Away: 100.51%
Port Home: 97.80% - Port Away: 75.49%

2022
Adelaide Home: 133.50% - Adelaide Away: 79.85%
Carlton Home: 121.53% - Carlton Away: 101.38%
Collingwood Home: 108.18% - Collingwood Away: 105.26%
Port Home: 102.53% - Port Away: 85.83%

2021
Adelaide Home: 107.01% - Adelaide Away: 100.43%
Carlton Home: 108.17% - Carlton Away: 101.37%
Collingwood Home: 100.52% - Collingwood Away: 91.98%
Port Home: 113.79% - Port Away: 95.13%

2019
Adelaide Home: 135.42% - Adelaide Away: 112.30%
Carlton Home: 91.82% - Carlton Away: 88.29%
Collingwood Home: 126.04% - Collingwood Away: 120.22%
Port Home: 115.53% - Port Away: 84.72%

So yeah, it's really Port's home record that needs to be pointed out as an issue and not the fact that they and us often enjoy a discrepancy of 20% fewer free kicks when playing away which doesn't seem to be an issue for big Vic sides.

Collingwood and Carlton away games include those in Melbourne where they'd still have a large percentage of fans there?

No idea but I'd assume yes. It's just pulled straight from afltables so I'd think it's any game that you're the "away" side, same with away Showdowns.

Hate them with a passion but you have to give Port credit. Through brilliant drafting and aggressive trading they have managed to build a list that will be around the top 8 for the next decade.

A club on the rise whereas we are heading the other way.

Let's hope their prelim finals curse continues to strike them.

Watching the tackle on Aliir. It looks like the only reason he lands that way is because he lifts his leg to try to kick the ball at the wrong time.

Otherwise the tackle would be fine.

How can you penalise a tackler for the player choosing to kick the ball over protecting themself?

Jeremy Cameron has been in some unreal form this year.

I'd love to see him get a Brownlow, but we all know he won't given where he plays.

Whoever lowballed Acres at Freo should be sacked on sight, just gets worse every game he plays
They've made some poor list management decisions.

Trading in JOM was also a bizarre decision for a player well past his best.

Just read only 4.5k people at the game in Hobart today. That is appalling. I dont think I truly appreciated until today how bad North are (honestly believed they were a chance).

Why would Tasmanians rock up to see a historically bad side when in just a few years they'll get their own team?
