News Jake Pasini signs with Swan Districts

I wouldn't worry. There are plenty of 31-32 year olds on their last legs to cut for the mandatory turnover of spots. He's a required player in every sense of the word.

I haven’t seen him play this year but reports were good. We signed him to an extension early, so obviously thought he had talent. This will be his second long lay off (shoulder?),

We also picked up skinner and played him and a wounded McKenzie over Pasini. And he has been an emergency once? I think this year.

Is Jake getting another contract?
yes, absolutely!

Good news with Jake giving 110% to getting himself right to play for the Power in 2023 ....

Seeing stars: The 'Majic' trainer helping players reach new heights

Personal trainer Gerard Majda has been helping a bevy of AFL stars put in the hard yards in the off-season

IT IS approaching 7am on a Thursday morning when Trent Rivers, Nic Martin, Jake Pasini and Shannon Neale file into a Canning Vale garage in Perth's southern suburbs ready for a physical workout that will leave them seeing stars. Draft hopeful Chase Bourne is joining them, Luke Jackson and Trey Ruscoe will follow, while Shai Bolton, Sean Darcy, Caleb Serong and close to 20 other AFL players have sessions to come.
.....
For Pasini, Majda is playing a different role, helping the Port Adelaide defender add size after some of his conditioning fell away following a knee reconstruction in May. He's added 4kg through his sessions and, once recovered, looks to be a player to watch in 2023.
.....
AFL players from outside WA are increasingly involved as well, with Port Adelaide wingman Xavier Duursma booking a session when briefly in Perth recently.

He wants to add size. I hope that means height. He has been listed at 192 cm but rumour is he has grown to 195 cm. Fingers crossed that this is correct.

195 would be perfect for our needs

I wish I could add 3cm to my height.
But at age 65 I may have missed the bus 😢

the only thing that restricted my career at AFL level was ability, height, beer and motivation

Good to see a young player take the initiative to improve himself.

Pasini was looking ready for a call up before his injury. Was just when Jonas was out, would have been a perfect introduction.

training from a garage?

pretty impressive for a personal trainer to attract AFL players, from a back yard operation
Boak and the boys went all the way to California to work out of a double garage with Apiros. Their setup also looks pretty basic & unimpressive, but they have international sporting stars lined up for their services & expertise.

Not sure why everyone is impressed that players are doing stuff to keep fit in the off season.

Sure be impressed by what they are doing that isn't the normal weights, cardio and exercise sessions down at the local gym / local trainer.

The non normal stuff like jumping on a plane and going to do specialised sessions, with injury rehab included, with Apiros / Austin Einhorn in Santa Cruz and paying for that out of their own pocket ( but no doubt tax deductible), but its part of the CBA conditions that they have to keep fit and at an acceptable standard, given how long they have off. If they don't, they can be fined.

From the 2017-22 CBA, Schedule C – Minimum Terms and Conditions, Clause 9 Leave, 9.1 Post Season Leave page 74

(b) A Club’s Season Conclusion Date shall be the Tuesday after the Club’s final match of the AFL Season,
- so we finished Saturday 20th August so they went on holiday 23rd August - 11 weeks ago - what other profession (outside sports) pays you for 12 or 13 weeks annual leave - every year?

and if the clubs get too demanding, they get fined.

Give it a rest mate, it's the off season. Better to be looking at what the lads are doing, than the incessant crap-on that goes on in every thread attacking players, coaches, & club!

Where did I attack the players?
