The chocky has melted a bit in the Monday sun... what little bit there is of it.
There are shards of coloured foil in places it doesnt naturally belong.
The glycemic index of many is 13% higher across the town.
Means only 1 thing.
Its Easter Monday Footy at the G and the traditional rivals Cats V Hawks is on.
And its gonna be wet. Pissing down in fact per Jane Bunn.... (whoever that its as im not local enough anymore lol
Ollie Henry gets to 50 games - Congrats to him and showing why it was worth reuniting the Henry bros at KP.
Some other bloke has a milestone too.... a lazy 350 in the bag for the TommaHawk.
And even though the Hawks are rebulding, it doesnt matter.
This is Cats V Hawks - and you know damn well Sammy Mitchell will be drilling into them what this means... how it feels to be Geelong and what the heartbreak of Rd 19 2012 really feels like.
Make no mistake, the respect between clubs is there and they will come.
And its out job to stop them in their tracks.
FFS its Tommy's 350th.
The Man.. the Legend, not just of the 26 in the Hoops.. but the legend of the game.
We have some challenges.. No PFD, 2E rested, Stanley out, Mannagh rested after a few solid weeks and Knevitt played VFL
We get Conway in - time to shine big fella -, Bruhn back, Axe is back, Bowes is in too. Good ins.... not to mention Mitch Duncan for some wise old guile.
We need to get on top early and stay there. Wont be easy but it is doable.
Dont let the Hawks get a run on - keep them under pressure and get it fast into F50. We wont take many marks in the rain but make the contest and bring it to ground - let the smalls do their work.
Finesse goes out the window in the wet... make it a territory and repeat F50 entry game.
Tomma can still kick a bag in the wet - seen him do it. Bigger doesnt get easier to move in the wet - a little slower perhaps.
Rs 2 2007 was a long time ago.
Lets get it done for Tomma and have Stewy lead us home.
