Turns out that while the 2014 (and 2010) versions of TdF had a stage end in the village of Arenberg, and featured cobbled sections, the section of road we are talking about, Trouee d'Arenberg, has never been part of the TdF

Arenberg would be rough on the GC riders is the problem, they struggle enough with the ‘easy’ cobbled sectors they’ve used in the tdf

Yeah, but can you imagine the carnage? JV would love it with likely WVA, Dennis and Laporte. They'd also love a TTT with WVA, Dennis, Dumoulin and Roglic.

Conceivable that puncture and crash could have cost Moscon the race. He'll be a giant if he can get caught, stay with them, and then take it at the end.

Nah, they have to follow the race organiser car. So when someone needs help the team cars have to shuffle order behind the red car before getting help.

No, what I meant was with Moscon getting a puncture, he stopped and had to wait for the mechanic to get out and unload a bike, I wondered if it was a rule that the car couldn't zip past by 100m or so, and have the mechanic standing there with the bike ready to go when Moscon got there.

In TT's they do it, never seen it in a road race other than people standing there with spare wheels.
