NFNL Div 2 2020

Very much looking forward to this season in Div 2.
Lot of questions..
Can Banyule carry on their form and go one better than last year with a very talented list?
How will the Panthers go with one of the most respected and proven coaches in recent history on board and some familiar faces returning?
Will Lower Plenty do what they always have done and yoyo back up to Div 1?
New and proven coach at Diamo... Will they impact?
Thommo... Recruited some important players, but how big will their impact be? Will the coaches record of misdemeanours and toxic ways impact the group?
After some impressive performances last year, how will the young St. Marys go?

Can't get a read on Fitzroy, PH, Epping and Watsonia just yet.

Great to see the 2nd tier so strong.

I think Panther lack soeed and may be exposed come finals time.

Plenty of talent but similar to Banyule Whittlesea ran all over them.

Hopefully they find a hand full of young blokes as their next breed as they do have quite a few blokes over 30 now.

Lower doesn’t seem to be going all that good from my intel. Would be surprised if they competed at the pointy end.

Diamond Creek have a great coach but still think they might lack 1/2 superstars to punish sides.

Thomastown well god knows what Mario will do but I think list wise they are right there.

Banyule should be up there but it’ll be a tougher comp this season.

How will the Panthers go with one of the most respected and proven coaches in recent history on board and some familiar faces returning? LAST SEASON HERD IT WAS TOXIC PLACE AT TIMES IF THE GET THAT SORTED NO REASON TO BE TOP 3 TEAM
Will Lower Plenty do what they always have done and yoyo back up to Div 1? ALWAYS FEAR SIDE COMING DOWN WILL BE THEIR MY OPINION
New and proven coach at Diamo... Will they impact? GREAT COACH AS STATED HAVE RECRUITED MORE HEIGHT I AGREE SOME MORE POLISH MIDS WOULD BE IDEAL
Thommo... Recruited some important players, but how big will their impact be? Will the coaches record of misdemeanours and toxic ways impact the group?
After some impressive performances last year, how will the young St. Marys go? LOSS OF CHAPMAN IS HUGE LOSS DONT KNOW MARIO HISTORY BUT WILL HAVE ONE BEST FWD LINE IN COMP / ST MARYS BEEN VERY QUITE MAYBE CONTINUE PUSH YOUTH

Can't get a read on Fitzroy, PH, Epping and Watsonia just yet. -THINK ALL IN TROUBLE I THINK EPPING AND WATS TO BEST OF BAD BUNCH

I THINK IT WILL BE 2 TIER WITH CLEAR TOP 5 AND BOTTOM 5

Great to see the 2nd tier so strong.

Patrick Dela Rocca from Heidelberg to Banyule (pending) would be a good get for Banyule

There are way too many bears in this div...

but agree, Banyule have done some very good work in the off-season and will be hard to beat

Panther loading up on another 2 guns. Although looking like a pretty old side.

Apparently a few of the older guys have retired or gone, such as Connolly and Keys, you need to maintain a balance of young and experience.
When the going gets tough it's the experience guys that fly the flag.

Hi guys,

The Burnside Heights Football Club in Div 2 of the EDFL is seeking a practice match on the 14th March (away game). Please contact Football Manager Phil DeBono on 0419 999 783.

Cheers

Hard not to be bullish about the upcoming season if you are an Eltham person.
Hope they get up to Div 1, a great club, good people and awesome facilities with the big junior program to boot.
Doesn't mean sh*t in September though but pleasing to see they are doing everything they can to get back up there.

Have everything in place but takes 1 bad quarter or 1 bad injury and it can all fall apart.

They have a better list than other D1 clubs but getting there is never easy

Who do they have a better list then in Div 1? Yes probably Whittlesea. But can’t see anyone else

Great to be positive for Eltham but haven't we been hearing it's a great place, best club, great juniors etc etc for last 2 years
Comparing it to the likes of Hurstbridge, North Heidelberg and Whittlesea who are in Div 1 and have much smaller junior programs etc, should Eltham be doing better??

Maybe Hurstbridge, Northcote Park and if North Heidelberg doesn't get some reasonable recruits to cover their losses then include them as well.
Your kidding yourself if you think they are better then them 3. They finished 3rd in div 2 and couldn’t make a granny. Yes they picked up a couple of players, but the gap is massive. They’d wana finish on top by 4 games and win the granny by 8 goals the way we are talking

I dunno they won 6 games when relegated and I’d say they have quite a bit better list than then

Their coaching choices have been horrendous which IMO has led to this position. There is no reason they shouldn’t be a strong first side if they get it together
