Some blow-in gets double the opportunity of a club legend, still can't even win a Preliminary Final

Brad Gotch, who came aboard at the end of 2011, left to coach South Adelaide at the end of 2013.
He was never in the coaching box under Hinkley - well apart from that game at the Oval in London in November 2012. He was defence coach in 2012, then lost that job to Nicks and he moved back to Melbourne after Hinkley was appointed to be opposition analyst.

Gotch joined Port Adelaide in 2012 as the club's AFL assistant coach responsible for defence.
He served in that role for one season before moving home to Melbourne as the club's full time opposition analyst.

Oh wow, I stand corrected. For some reason I’d Mandela Effected him into the other side of the Rehn coin.

You're not the only one. I was certain that Gotch worked with Hinkley.

Awfully said, but I actually understood him. He’s talking about two different things.

First, he talks about any particular Minor Round match. In themselves, they are all equal. They all value 4 points.

Then, he talks about the season. Depending on how your previous matches go, that which you can actually achieve changes. So, the relevance of a match also changes.

Both statements are obviously true. But why is he saying them? I have no idea.

Congratulations. You understand the mind of an idiot.

I’ve had 6 years of Dilma Rousseff as president. Her speeches were in a dialect of their own: Dilmish. Yet, I’ve learned it.

It seems that the experience has helped me understanding other confusing speeches and statements as well!

"Any club worth its salt will clean out its no-hopers from the doorman, to the head trainer, to the captain.

Keeping no-hopers in these positions, or any other position, is the mark of the non-successful club.

You've got to weed out people who breed an atmosphere of non-professionalism.

They're there for the bloody joke, for the social life, for the prestige. They're not there to win!!

"To be successful, each of us must be active, aggressive and devoted to this cause. We agree
that success is well within our reach and have confidence that each member of both team and
management will suffer personal sacrifices for the common end." - Foster Neil Williams.
Unfortunately this is now just a marketing tool for the Ken Oath Kool Aid drinkers

23-24-0 in night games at Adelaide Oval* (48.9 W%) after Round 3, 2022.

*games starting at 6-9pm

23-25-0 (47.9 W%) under lights at AO after Round 4, 2022.

And that’s at the end of the phase where we were a ‘good’ team. Surely only Neesham/Drum-Freo and the Suns had/have a home comparable record?

I’m assuming the Hafey Swans and Matthews Lions insulated them from such an overall record during their terrible years.
