Collingwood premiership star Brayden Maynard was in a car accident on Thursday morning, and while all involved are OK, it has been described as ‘a scary moment’. According to Nine’s Tom Morris, Maynard’s car collided with a ute in Brighton, with both vehicles ‘banged up’ as a result.
The 28-year-old is expected to train on Friday before being available to play on Saturday night against Port Adelaide at the MCG.

We’re injury or omission away from seeing Atkins or McEnte people are over these type of scrubs soaking up game time

McEntee played most of last season so I thought it would make people happy he isn’t playing but I was mistaken because now we are melting over emergencies.

Atkins isn’t as bad as this board makes him out to be.

We have four significant injuries. The emergencies as named suggest that McEntee and Atkins are rated at player 29 and 30 on our list by the coaches. To me, that implies that our coach(es) are still either poor judges of our own players or that our depth of AFL quality players after the preseason runs at less than 30. No midfielder on our emergency list either. Stacked with surplus back flankers (6 in the named 23) and now small forwards (5 in the 23), we have still selected one of each type in the emergencies over a midfielder. Again it speaks to a lack of ready to go midfield depth.

McEntee and Atkins ranked 29th and 30th seems pretty fair to me. Not good enough for best 23, even with some injuries.
