Allows Gibcus to play forward. He's better than Young and Miller.
I've been keen to see us test Gibcus forward. I don't think Lewis Young is a significant upgrade on what we already have based on what I've seen. Happy to be proven wrong though.

We have a potentially elite KPD partnership in Balta and Gibcus why do people want to keep messing with them and shifting them around, it's even more confusing that it is to accomodate inferior players. Lynch and Lefau in the forward line, Balta and Gibcus down back.

I like Kennedy but he is not a fit for us

For the right deal I wouldn't be against us having a look at trading in

James Peatling
Riley Garcia

I also wouldn't be against us having a discussion with Cumming from GWS as an unrestricted free agent.

With our departures we could use a couple of ready made types so that we don't become too young.

Can’t bring in a free agent unless we want to lose Graham compo.

Reckon Matt Kennedy would be an astute cheap pick-up, especially if we lose Graham. Expecting this to be an unpopular opinion

Wrong side of 25. As much as I think we need more experience in our midfield I think they need to be a 3rd-5th year player or they just end up being a complete list clogger.

The years weren’t kind, in all sorts of ways.

I fondly remember Michael playing 67 ~ mid 70s... winning 4 flags. Great ruckman. Sadly, grandson Tom born in Qld, raised in the ACT, living in Sydney. Giants academy player.
Extended his contract once already. I think
Didn't B. Gale have some conversation with Michael a couple of years ago?
Dunno if the appeal of living in Melbourne vs Sydney would be a factor.

He is used to GWS level crowds. Playing well with GWS might even be a captain there.
Terrific mark too...

Yeah I feel like people are getting hung up on how deep the draft is and therefore equating that a top ten pick is equal to a top four pick which is not my understanding of this (or any) draft

It’s risk preservation.

Simple. You have a much better chance to get elite talent higher you pick.

Will you get it right 100% of the time? Nope. Is this draft better deeper? Yes.

But like richoatthedisco says, Pick 1, 2, 3 gets the best A grade talent.

(1)FOS, (2)Lalor and (3) Smith

(1)FOS, (6) Murphy and (10) Allan

Pick your poison.
