Hello Tiger fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

Lets assume we end up with our own top 10 pick, I mean it could be top 5.

We then get Freos first pick and we couple that with our 2nd rounder, we could potentially end up with 2 x top 10 picks if we are lucky and creative, that is then our next 2 x stars. Rebuild well on the way.
Will end up with 4 first round picks this year

I can't see the Eagles giving us value for Baker. There's no way they will want to part with a 1st rounder for him, (they will have a high 1st rounder and Baker as good as he is isn't worth that) yet at the same time they will offer him a massive contract. Freo is our best bet IMO, especially if they have a decent season. They will have a late 1st rounder and already have a young list so adding Baker to their list is worth giving up a late 1st rounder. Whether we give something back then only time will tell.
Eagles will trade second round pick this year and next years

If they have both Filth and port rd 1 picks and they both finish high and get pushed to around 18-22 range, we might be a chance to get both for Baker and give them back some later picks including our own rd 2 pick.
Freo are after McDonald from swans
That is there number 1 priority

From all the on-line reports, Levi Ashcroft is seriously good and Lions wont want to miss on him. RFC pick 26 & 39 ATM would be 1175 points which is equal to about pick 14 in points. RFC swap 26 & 39 for Lions first round 2025 plus they throw in a sweetener.
Need to throw another third round pick to entice Lions, we potentially have picks 43 and 44 if ladder stays as same as round 24 last year

losing Liam Baker will only hurt us short term it might make the club finally realize we know where near a competing finals team.

Not if we make the finals this year. Lynch stays healthy we are always a chance.

Prestia's injury is a blessing... our midfield looked better without him.

Is Naismith a chance to come in against Soldo? Probably not

Love Bakes but he is expendable.
I don't think his ceiling is much higher than where he is at right now.
If we are proposed with a strong deal from either West Coast or Freo, I'll pay for his Uber to the airport.

I think the best we can hope to get is a late first round pick. 12-19. If he was in contract we might be able to get 8-12 but even that's a bit of a stretch.

How can you Pay $800k -$850k x 5 years and only offer pick 19
there would have to be more pick #12 is about right

As it stands and will likely stand at the end of the season Eagles hold pick 1, 21 and 39. We currently have 6, 25 and 26.

We could trade 6, 25, 26 and Baker for pick 1 and 21. Everyone wins.
All depends on the top 5 picks really

Last year it was Harley Reid then a big gap to the next 5 which you could throw a blanket over

I would 100% be sounding out Ryan Maric and selling him the thought of coming back home

#21+ Maric would be interesting

I think we already own the eagles third round pick, but yeh early draft reports are that it’s a midfield heavy draft, vic talent and there is not a clear number 1 as there has been in recent years. So eagles would maybe be more open to trading pick under the right circumstances

RACE ON FOR TIGER AS PAIR OF CLUBS ‘IN RUNNING’

Fremantle and the West Coast Eagles are reportedly preparing “lucrative” pursuits of off-contract Richmond utility Liam Baker.

The clubs flagged interest in the Tigers vice-captain previously and are said to be keen on the West Australian again in 2024.

“Well, they both were in the running last time for Liam Baker, and they’re both absolutely in the running again this time around,” reported AFL Media’s Cal Twomey on Gettable.

“So, in 2022 when Baker re-signed (at Richmond) for two more years, that was done late in the season. Now, I think it’s going to be a discussion that again is happening late in the season.

“He’s a vice-captain now, not a free agent, so it’ll come at a trade cost, but they’re both going to be throwing long and lucrative deals at him.

“It’s going to be a longer watch through this year, I think, and where Richmond is at in that discussion, as well, deeper into the season will be a fascinating aspect to this, too.”

The now-26-year-old was drafted to Punt Road via the 2017 Rookie Draft and is a dual premiership player.

TIGER IN HIGH DEMAND

Richmond faces a fight to keep hard nut Liam Baker, with multiple clubs chasing the out-of-contract midfielder.

West Coast and Fremantle are both expected to target Baker in an attempt to bring the versatile ball-winner back home to Western Australia at season’s end.

Baker, 26, has put off contract talks for now as the Tigers prepare to navigate a tough start to the season under new coach Adem Yze.

Richmond’s list strategy is likely to become clearer later in the season, with the club in the hunt for a key forward replacement for Jack Riewoldt (retired) and Tom Lynch.

The Tigers also need to inject more top-end young talent to help power the team into a new era, having taken only one player (Josh Gibcus) in the top 15 of the past eight national drafts.

A Baker trade could net the Tigers a late first-round or early second-round draft pick as part of the club’s attempts to inject more talent at the end of Yze’s first season at Punt Rd.

Fremantle had a big crack at Baker two years ago and would be well-placed to pull off a deal for the Subiaco product this year. The Dockers have three first-round picks to use in this year’s trade and draft period after landing a first-round pick from Collingwood for small forward Lachie Schultz, who is also 26.

It means the Dockers could effectively turn Schultz into Baker, if successful, while the Eagles could also enter the race if they can convince him the club can climb up the ladder soon.

Baker has averaged 17 touches in his first two games in 2024 – and has played 84 per cent forward, despite mid-season plans to feature more through the midfield.

The Tigers generated 35 points from stoppages against Carlton, their fourth-best return from that source in five years, according to Champion Data.

South Australian midfielder Jack Graham is also a free agent this year and could attract interest from Adelaide. Graham toured Port Adelaide two years ago, before recommitting to the Tigers.

Richmond went down in its first two games of the season, including a brave defeat to Carlton in Round 1, and lost young defender Gibcus to a season-ending ACL injury.

But the Tigers are expected to have a strong hand in this year’s draft with the capacity to trade their suite of draft picks – including two second-round, three third-round and three fourth-round picks up the order.

The Tigers’ former recruiting manager Matthew Clarke was last month appointed West Coast’s new list manager, replacing Rohan O’Brien. Richmond is looking for a new list manager, but will be led by Blair Hartley in the meantime.

Clarke told this masthead last year that Richmond could try and bundle its picks this year to land another first-rounder in a trade with another club and off-load a pair of early picks for a gun tall.

Blair Hartley is Richmond's list manager, I think article meant Hartley in the meantime will be taking Matt Clarke's recruiting role.
