Wonder what evidence they have, good chance being 22 he just slipped up and told someone, probably only reason it hasn't gone cold.

I would think (given the extensive reporting and discussion of mobile phone data), that they have positively geolocated the suspect in the same immediate vicinity as Samantha's phone for a period of time and or in multiple locations on the day of her disappearance. If they can place him in close vicinity to her last recorded ping, this makes him a prime suspect. The absence of a body or physical evidence indicates SM is now deceased. The suspects explanation of his movements (or lack thereof) has possibly led to him being charged with murder. This may have been a tactic to get him to reveal more information, including the location of the body, or he may have given certain other information to police.

As far as motive goes... perhaps he was pursuing/stalking Samantha's daughter - wanted to get rid of Samantha because she was restricting him from access?

Think the definition of a hit and run is hitting someone, not stopping and driving away. Could just be a technicality that because he did stop to hide the body, is why he's said no to hit & run (would change the entire charging and court process if it were hit & run, I'd assume).

Well we don't know what he or anyone else has said. Or what evidence they may have. They haven't found her body yet, so how would they know how she was murdered...unless they have certain evidence which has obviously led them to believe it was deliberate.

They would’ve had eyes on him for a while now, including when that statement was made.

With the way they have worded their press/information releases I think they were pretty confident on this suspect quite early.

I didn’t say he was a nutter. I will say he is an unsafe person however this has played out. We don’t know all of the details.
I have to say It’s a tragedy for Samantha and her family and also for his family because no one wants their child in this situation neither.

If the guy is guilty of murdering a mother out on a run, I'm going with nutter.

This breaks my heart. From following this since the start. I’m so angry and heartbroken her family.

Everyone is asking for motive. What if there isn’t one. What if he’s got psychotic tendencies and it was a meeting of opportunity and chance.

I hope she’s found. And I hope he stays behind bars
