I find the common argument that multiple top picks are required for our rebuild strange when we look at where North vs Hawks are at.

hawks just have great list management, development and a capable coach.

North have none of those things and the jury's out of WCE after the changes made over the past 12 months.

However i think duggan and allen far exceed those sentiments.

Both OA and Duggan have been woeful.

If Shuey was a bad captain through just never being on the park then those two are definitely worse as they are there but just not giving 2 shits.

I really think Mini needs at least a year and a bit to be given a chance to do his best to get this team and club up and running again, but if you close your eyes and don’t look at the Vision, he sounds a lot like Simmo to me and that’s giving me PTSD.

I don't think stupid statements like this are really productive. Who are you targetting these towards exactly?

It's pretty unanimous on this board nobody expects us to win. Also it's standard most are happy with the method of playing the kids and rebuilding, nobody is questioning that at all.

However clubs have rebuilt for years and years before us and yet managed to not be this god awful. No team should be this bad. The comp borderline has things in place to prevent it from happening, yet here we are.

As others have said it's the remaining senior players that are STILL letting the team down. Allen, Hunt, Duggan to name a few. Also the coaching and structures supporting the young team needs to be tweaked.

It's not against the law to whine about our lack of contested ball and setting a record historical low when even an amateur team should be able to win it. Rebuilds shouldn't matter.

Personally I'm questioning our game plan and Shuey (ironically your mate who you carried on about rolling out and continuously playing late in his career instead of young players) and Schofield as midfield/stoppage coaches.

It’s peoples expectations of said senior players that need to adjust, think we’ve all seen enough of Allen, Hunt, Duggan that we no they’re no good. To be continue to be shocked and melting over that is pointless.

This is one of the worst/youngest midfields in AFL history, it just shouldn’t come as a surprise the team is getting smashed on the inside, our top 3 midfielders had an average games played of five.

Personally I’d rather see those kids in the midfield getting experience and experience losses like this, than have Duggan & Graham in there and losing by 30-40.

Can’t put any blame on the coaches with the mids that were out there. It will take time.

They went from being ahead us of in a rebuild to kicking one goal in a half and scoring less than us in the space of 90~ minutes. It’s tough in the big league

Our coaching structure for 2025. Just a reference guide. Schofield = Assistant Coach - Midfield. Shuey = Assistant Coach = Stoppages.

Two completely separate roles x
Both will be under pressure to retain their roles on current form.

Something I have noticed this year more than other years - when there is a contest we have three or four players go for the oppo player with the ball and then we get killed on the spread because the opposition players have kept their width.

I wonder why this is happening. Is it a coaching instruction or are the players that dumb like kids all chasing the ball?
It’s very obvious on TV and the opposition just cuts us up.
Would seem pretty easy to fix.
