Next finals team? Bro that ain't even on the menu for 10 yrs at a minimum. Cole, who plays a small lockdown role, is only a small part of our worries atm.

So we're going to be out of the finals for 15 years? C'mon no one has missed the finals for that long since the 80s, not in the era of bigger finals and draft measures.

Maybe I am crazy but there seems to be some overreaction.

We are not in a position to beat Freo, and I was pretty comfortable those ****wits would dominate the game. Although the calls to drop SNR members from the team and go exclusively to kids is a bit much.

For me, they need to find a way to make sure the following guys get games no matter what: Hewett, A Reid (I am putting him in over J Williams)

Then, the next tier they need to string a few games together on limited minutes, running through the coal face (10, 15 or 20%) in order of preference

Hall, Gross, and Bo Allan - The issue is, how is the side picked if all five players come in?

Are we really dropping Kelly, Graham, etc., because even if they're kids, and the reaction would be let's pump games into them, they're not going to have long careers with CBA getting belted week in and week out. They need snr bodies peppered around them to make sure they have support.

Having five or six of them in the side I just think the balance is completely wrong and will be GWS-esque. I would be a fan picking two, three or four of them. And just doing the numbers, meaning they are picked with defined roles and time/% beforehand. It's set, no emotion, no reaction, no changes.

And what will be, will be. I would expect heavy losses if all these kids are given games and 300/400/500 games are dropped.

No one would care for a season of heavy losses if the kids are the ones getting exposure in the roles they are recruited for.

Guys in the middle like hewitt, gross, grego, davis, bo allen in the middle. Hell even Barnett in the ruck.. shanahan, archer reid and jack williams up forward.. plug and play.

The experienced guys get told they are playing the surrounding roles. Kelly shouldn’t be playing in the middle, he shouldn’t be getting a new deal so shift him out and play the kids.

We have survived three years getting pumped playing the old guys. We can handle another year of beltings with clear exposure to the young guys.

A reasonable person would expect such a thing.

But we lose our shit almost weekly, if we would as you say hand over the keys and bring in hewitt, gross, grego, davis, bo allen, barnett, shanahan, archer reid and jack williams. I would be nervous, I am not sure of the psychology and being smashed by 100 points every week for another two years would do.

Especially if these kids are being thrown to the wolves, I would expect it to hamper their development in some form. It would also show very quickly who has it and who doesn't—sink or swim, as they say—but the turnover of the squad would be crazy for three or four years if that happens.

I could be wrong and full of shit...

Also be curious which nine players would make way for such drastic changes and fitting them all in.

Not wrong there needs to be a balance. AFL isn't an underage comp
